Alright so here's the deal. I made a topic not long ago about Tien matching Goku's son, although it turned out with not much depth. There's not much of an argument that can be made. Tien is just better than Goten(in his base). Let's just say the day after Kid Buu was destroyed, and everything was wished back to normal, Tien challenged his one time rival Goku to a fight. The strongest man in the world would now face the strongest being in the universe. Although there would be some rules to lay down some rules as Tien is just a man. Well here's this match. Goku Not allowed transforming into a Super Saiyan or a Great Ape Not allowed to use his Spirit Bomb, He can't call anyone for help Tien No DQ, he can do anything He can only call Chaizou for help, and the only thing Chaizou can do is self destruct. Ok. Let's break it down. Here is Tien's skill set: Ki Blast Flight Mimicry Dodon Ray Eye Laser Rapid Velocity Technique Kamehameha Tri-beam Ki Blast Cannon Evil Containment Wave Neo Tri-Beam Multi-Form Four Witches Technique Solar Flare After Image Technique Volleyball Attack Telepathy And here is Goku's skill set: Ki Blast Solar Flare Spirit Bomb - useless Flight Kaio-ken All SSJ's useless Dragon Fist Warp Kamehameha __________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'd say due to Goku's loss of the Spirit Bomb and all Super Saiyan Transformations, it levels the playing field for Tien. Goku has always had the advantage on Tien, even in the original dragonball series in the world tournament. However, Goku doesn't need his SSJ transformation or Spirit Bomb against a lot of adversaries he takes down in the great world of DBZ. Even in his base form he can put out some devastating power. After all, he is the "I am the hope of the universe. I am the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. I am protector of the innocent. I am the light in the darkness. I am truth. Ally to good! Nightmare to you!" Tien is indeed the strongest Human in the world and has will and heart of a true warrior. He has mastered so many techniques and probably taked his trainig more seriously than anyone else in the DBZ Universe. He really would put up a good fight, and this one would be one for the memories BUT... Goku is the Protaganist of Dragonball Z - the fighter that competes with all of the biggest and baddest menaces from dragonball, and cares for humanity more than himself. Tien can not beat Goku - super saiyan or not. After all, he is a Saiyan. |

All the limitations on Goku doesn't change the fact that he is much, much stronger than Tien, even in base form, and would still beat Tien with ease. Chiaozu's self-destruct would hardly make a scratch and Goku could take the majority of Tien's attacks with no trouble and take out Tien, in my opinion, without using any energy blasts at all. |

tien would put up a good fight against goku but would obviously lose because of goku's overwhelming power and and skills he has developed since thier last match, goku can only get stronger over the years so maybe, a fight between the goku who fought the ginyu force and tien would be a better match up. |

This could be base Goku from Namek and I still see him schooling Tien(end of Buu Saga). I don't see Tien ever reaching the millions. |

I got all of those techniques from the dragonball wiki. I don't really remember Tien using Kamehameha either. Everything else I remember though. |

I have to consider Tien's potential in winning this fight. He could use chiazou's self destruction to manipulate Goku. Despite not scratching him, the self destruction will surley stun Goku, and that's when Tien has a chance to perfectly execute his Tri-Beam. On that topic, Tien has been able to deflect the Kamehameha wave before. He has also been able to knock down Super Buu, therefore if anyone says his strength is superiorly below Goku that's wrong, since Super Buu was stronger than Goku. If Goku would want to win this fight he'd have to make sure to outrun Tien in terms of speed. Though I can see Tien winning this fight, although with a lot more effort than Goku. He'd have to munipulate him. |

He used it against Master Roshi at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament in Dragonball. Tien Vs. Goku is an interesting fight, but to get the scope of their advancement I'll start from...the start. The first tournament match they had, they were nigh equal, with Goku losing by nothing more then being the first to fall to the ground. A the next tournament, though, Goku had surpassed Tien. When he took off his weighted clothes, Tien was too slow, and after confusing Goku with the Multiform technique, Tien was eventually beaten. It can be assumed that the gap continued from the end of Dragonball to the start of Dragonball Z, with both getting stronger. I doubt Tien gained on Goku as Goku would of been training hard too, to keep up with Piccolo in case he tried to take over the world again. Then Goku dies, goes King Kai's, gets way more powerful then Tien, yadayada. The gap increases here. Tien later gets to go to King Kai's, but it's very unlikely his strength increased past Captain Ginyu's, even with the extra year he spent there. Goku, however, had super training on his way to Namek, plus he had a near-death experience on Namek which allowed him to fight with Frieza's final form. By then, Goku's base power was in the millions. That gap would have taken a LONG time to train up to in my opinion. They both train for the Androids, but again, as Goku was training, Tien wouldn't of been catching up. Goku would still be miles ahead. Infact, Goku probably jumped even further ahead due to having Piccolo and Gohan as training partners. Goku enters the Time Chamber and that no doubt makes his base even stronger as well. Then he trains in Otherworld (which is probably the best place to train) for 7 years while Tien is doing basic training on Earth...again, Tien wouldn't of been closing the gap. Goku was too far ahead. Conclusion: Since Goku took the lead of Tien, he's been jumping further and further ahead. I don't think Tien ever got a chance to catch up, as Goku never stopped training, and Goku had better training conditions. So my vote goes to Goku. |

Oh yeah, that's when the infamous, " YOU CAN TUNE A PIANO BUT YOU CAN'T TUNE A FISH!" Tien quote happens. Edited by Meta Cooler, Jul 27 2009, 04:29 PM.

Even if Goku doesn't use ssj transformations, he still has Kaioken attack and Instant Transmission, which is more than enough to eliminate Tien. And then there is always the famous Kamehameha wave...even if Tien knows Kamehame, it is no way near the power of Goku's kamehame. Goku is the master of Kamehame, he perfected that attack. Goku wins

Goku's base definitely wins, ESPECIALLY post-kid buu. the zenkai-increase was probably a lot after kid buu. With kaio-ken, even without it...tien is toasssst. thats ridiculous. goku's base level is very high. he's extremely strong. |

I think Goku woud easily win, He was stronger than tien at the end of DB and he has had extreme power ups since DB - DBZ comapared to Tien. |

Psyam explained the power gap between the two perfectly, and that is why Goku wins hands down. Plus, like Nothing mentioned, Goku still has the Kaioken which would multiply an already superior base level. |

It's also obvious that Goku would win because a Saiyan gets stronger after every battle, and this is after the end of the show: after he's fought kid buu. |
