No super saiyan power ups allowed, no swords, no fusions just fighting. I always thought Tien can match even the strong Saiyans, but they cheat and go Super Saiyan..

With Goten having no Super Saiyan I think Tien would win this match. Tien has many abilities that Goten has, yet to learn. I know that Chichi taught Goten how to fight, but he had no techniques to use besides the Kamehameha. Also, the amount that Tien had to train in order to be at Goten's level probably surpasses Goten's natural ability. |

Well, let's not just consider this as the Goten from before he learnt to go SSJ. Let's just say he knows how to go SSJ already, but he's not allowed to tranform for this match haha. I'll post my reply in a while. |

I think in the bojack movie Tien was doing alright against base Future Trunks so he could take Goten. |

I do think Tien would edge this one. He is way more experienced, has more of a variety of moves; remember that Goten had just learnt how to manipulate ki. Tien also had the power to match base Future Trunks, like Itagaki said, and Future Trunks was also a seasoned, powerful fighter. |

If he uses that damn Tri-Beam I don't know how Goten even -could- win. I really wonder about that attack and how powerful it could be. Even fighters of equal power can deflect special moves, and sometimes merely stand there and recieve no damage while his Tri-Beam actually damages a fighter of far, FAR greater power. (SemiCell) I think Tien would win, and he might damn near kill Goten if he uses that attack. |

Tien is too fast for Goten, and has a 3rd eye. Too many techniques. He has a big advantage. He's also much more serious in his training. |

Tien would win, because he's been trained by a professional in martial arts and has been in the 'business' so to speak for a lot longer than young goten has. Goten barely learned how to fly, and Tien has known for a while longer. His tri-beam cannon wouldve killed semi-cell if he used it a few more times IMO, so i think one hit would do some harm to Goten. Tien has way more techniues, not to mention he's taller also. TIEN. |

I peraonally think that Tien would win because he's always training. Goten is still a little kid, so he doesn't take training seriously. Plus, without SS, Goten isn't really much of a threat. Tien would probably hit Goten with an overpowered tri beam attack and win. (Seriously, that attack is over powered.  )

I agree with most of the guys here that are saying that Tien would win this one. He has much more experience and much bigger arsenal of techniques. And if he uses his Tri-Beam...omg...Goten could even get killed(maybe). Btw someone said that Tien damaged Semi Cell with Tri-Beam. Tien's Tri-Beam did NOT damage Semi Cell, it only pushed him back a little. Tien fired that thing a dozen times, and Semi Cell didn't even have a scratch. Tri-beam may be considered a strong attack in DB, but in DBZ it is just left in the dust by other far more powerful attacks such as Goku's or Gohan's kamehameha waves, or Vegeta's Big bang and Final flash attacks, or Piccolo's SBC and Masenko wave. Wow, if you didn't think the Tri-Beam is a good attack, that just doesn't make any sense. So you're saying it didn't bother Cell, while somebody else is saying it would have killed him. I disagree with both. It damaged him, but he can recover from it. It doesn't kill him for the exact same reason it is inefficient. Cell would have to be entirely obliterated. Do you have any idea how powerful an attack must be to hurt a fighter with a gap that gigantic in-between the user and the target? This is Dragonball Z. If Tien used a Kamehameha, Cell would have flicked it with his pinky. Goku's Kamehameha has been swatted away before as if it were a simple Ki blast. @ Super Goku: "Tien has way more techniues, not to mention he's taller also." Taller? Well, his height wouldn't matter. If it did, fighters like Vegeta, Kid Buu, and Frieza would have never done a thing. "His tri-beam cannon wouldve killed semi-cell" Like I said before, I disagree with this as well. I understand it's a powerful attack, but that's going a bit far... |

Tri Beam ain't that powerful. It did no damage to Cell at all,it only pushed him back into the hole ,and I think Cell was so agitated and angry that he wasn't thinking. He just kept going up at Tien's attack like a little kid. He was to stubborn, if he only used his Ki attack, then Tien wold paying King Yama a visit. EDIT- Personally i like Tri Beam attack it looks cool, but u guys are giving it too much credit for that little stunt it pulled. Edited by Nothing, Jul 27 2009, 07:07 PM.

I really thought more people wouuld be for Goten because of his popularity and saiyan blood but I vote for Tien as well. It's clear he has the experience, will, drive and everything else to beat Goten. I wonder if he could take both Goten and Trunks on though. |
