Is anyone a fan of lifting the ol' rusty iron? I'm willing to go today, it's funny because at this moment I don't feel like doing it, but as soon as I start I'm gonna be hooked on it like adrenaline.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Nah I don't really do much working out to be honest, the odd set of sit-ups and press-ups aside. I really should though as I need to pack on a bit more muscle.

Once I get a job I hope to join a boxing gym and work out there.
On holiday I went on a few of the gym equipment at the hotel and I managed to lift 250lb : D

That's good Brian. Currently I weigh 140. 2 years ago I weighed 120. But There's still alot of room for improvment. Although I've been pissed off because it feels as though I have plateued for the past year. I also unfortunatley lost some mass since I stopped taking Creatin.

And it pisses me off plateuing so early for so long.

I weighed about 120 when I was 15, then I rapidly picked up weight within the next 2 years from playing football and eating right. I lost a lot of it in about a year though. You use supplements? Creatine should help you gain some weight. I used N.O. Xplode for energy. I liked my size and build, I just wanted to further my training habits on a basis.

So are you lean and ripped, and really fast, or what? At that size repetition can make you really lean. Repetition is always the way to go in my book, no matter the size. Maxing out can make you clunky and big, and you work ten times less. At your size you do a lot of repetition, right?

Yes I do, do alot of reps. I do 10 reps for each set, and I do between 3 and 4 sets for each excersise. And about 4-5 excersises for each muscles group. 3 muscles groups a session. (triceps, back, shoulders) & (biceps, chest, legs)

Although I hit the gym between 3 and 4 times a week. Since I can't hit the gym 5 times, which is what I did last summer. I make up for the lost time by staying at the gym for up to 2 hours at a time.

I was on creatine last summer. Stopped using it and lost alot of my mass. I'm going to hit some more very soon, either that or I'll just get some Iso-Gainer as a protein suppliment. I'm still on the lean side... which pisses me off because I work hard at it.

Im a 140 pound boxer (10 stone/ 64kg) im muscular an very lean (very low fat). Never tried to grow bigger as im quite powerful and comfortable at my size, i stand at roughly 5'8'' tall.

I go to the gym every so often and do cardio workouts (bike, rowing machines) with some weights involved as well, stuff for my back, arms, shoulders, chest and legs.
Im fast but i fight more like a heavyweight, flat footed with big power punches. I can throw punches endlessly with a good consitency in power.
Never taken any kind of supplement, just eat good healthy food, veg, fruit, carbs and fish and drink plenty of fluids. All home grown here. ;)
Its kind of addictive when you work out, you just want to keep training. Sometimes though i find it boring so have to mix up the pace and training.

Just wanted to say as well Itagaki Manabu damn ur one strong dude, you dont look like much but that is some weight to lift. I could never lift that much, strong guy man.
Luckily im not training to be a weight lifter though. :)

When you say "lift," how so do you mean? I could squat 250, but I don't know if I could pick up 250 lbs of dead weight.

Chances are he meant Bench, maybe squat. I don't think there's anything else that weighs 250lbs that can be 'pumped' with the upper body that weighs so much, especially for someone who never went to the gym before. but I still highly doubt that. Once you hit between 180lbs and 200lbs on the bench I've heard stories that the plateu is long, and the effort to break the barrier is unbearable.

I don't know if you really lifted 250lbs with your arms man, not calling you a liar. Just think it's a misunderstanding, especially for a guy who never goes to the gym.

Maybe he did meant squating, because I think he's a soccer player, and soccer players have strong legs. Although I don't know why anyone would say they lifted something, when they actually squated it, just makes the misunderstanding more so misleading :nerd:

Ive done big squats as part of a training program for explosive power.

You squat 120kg (262 lbs) six times, taking the weight right down to the lowest point machine (so its nearly touching, bloody hurts) then push hard off it in a controlled manner. You do this in 4 sets for the last fifth set you put the weight upto 140kg and do as many reps as you can, aiming for at least 6, lasted upto 12 once, usually just do 7 in the last set.
Gives you that power in your legs when throw hooks and uppercuts and when someone leans on you, youve got this explosive force in your legs so its like nothing.

Good Stuff.

I can bench 180. I'm not sure if I can pass it, as it's been a LONG time. Though, I knew plenty of guys that could break 200, although they were pretty heavy themselves.

As for the whole 250 thing, I'm pretty curious about that myself.

Do you guys hang clean any, or power clean? That's my strong point. I can throw 150 up.

This isn't too on topic but... I lift weights every now and then too. Not the heavy ones... the small ones, just to tone up my arms a little.

I enjoy working out. I used to go to the gym 3 days a week, but I stopped before going to Paris.

I didnt bench or squat lol, it was on a multigym thing, the one were you sit down and pull the bar down behind your head, but I stood up facing it and just pulled it down.

But my calfs are my best set of muscles haha, there my 'guns' lol.

Heeeey...this isn't my house! >_<

Honestly, apart from the fact that I walk for at least 40 minutes a day 5 days a week (to and from work), I don't do much at all - I'm planning on getting back into swimming from September onwards and I've moved my exercise bike so once that's set up in the basement I plan on getting into that.
