Posts: 2,053 Group: Retired Staff Member #1,870 Joined: November 4, 2006	I finally managed to get all nine seasons of DBZ, and just finished my GT set yesterday. I have to say I'm loving this whole collection they're doing and the way all of the shows feel like they're part of the same thing. I'm definitely going to be getting the DB seasons next, although it's too bad they're like 10 bucks more than the Z and GT seasons.

Mozilla Favourite Manga Ragnarok, although it's actually a manhwa	I was going to start collecting the remastered seasons but then Funi announced that they were going to start putting out the Dragon Box sets. So I'm definitely gonna save my money for that instead. Maybe we'll finally get an English dub for Saiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku! XD

Posts: 2,053 Group: Retired Staff Member #1,870 Joined: November 4, 2006	I don't understand why FUNimation would release the entire DB franchise on a total of 16 or 17 box sets only to turn around and re-release them using the same claims about the new "Dragon Boxes" as they did with this "Definitive Collection". I understand they need to milk DBZ in any way they can since the show is over, but they literally just finished releasing the entire show and now they're going to do it again? It's almost humorous.

There's actually a few reasons why Funi is doing it, but perhaps the most important one is the quality dive that show took due to Funi's new "widescreen format". All they did was crop the picture and by doing that actually cut off some of it, and their so called filters managed to muck up a lot as sometimes characters appeared with a lot of details left out. They actually got A TON of complaints because of their meddling. Another thing... the Dragon Box sets are authentic sets imported directly from Japan, they're even going so far as to make the Japanese audio track the default one. I mean I've watched all of the Z and GT seasons, and I'm fine with it, but they seriously mislead people with that series. Of course, this is assuming that the Dragon Boxes are actually any different. They could be the exact same situation as the remastered seasons they just finished releasing.

It would be very bad in they screwed this up, also the Dragonbox sets are regarded highly among DBZ fans, so I doubt it will be much of an issue.
