Well, Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo should be coming out today in Japan, with a US release hopefully in the near future. The original Dragon Ball tends to facilitate the kind of games I like to play, (i.e. platform beat-'em-ups with Chibi-Goku wailing on Red Ribbon flunkies) so I've kept an eye on this title. Details about Revenge of King Piccolo should be trickling in soon, so I'm waiting to see if they match up to my personal wishlist for the game. Wii games can be a mixed bag, so Bandai will have to step it up to match last Dragon Ball effort, Advanced Adventure for the GBA. 1. Makafushigi Adventure Theme Song This classic theme always helps complete a Dragon Ball experience for me, and I was disappointed that they cut it from the US release of Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure. Based on the previews, it seems they've made their own theme song for this game, so this is a bit of a let down. Not that the game still can't have good music; Advanced Adventure has a splendid soundtrack, despite the lack of familiar tunes. Just none of that metal droning that's in the DBZ games, thank you. 2. Full use of Nyoibo One of the things I look for in a game starring Chibi-Goku is the ability to switch back and forth from fists to Nyoibo at will. Judging by the videos, this looks to be possible. I am a bit sketchy on the depth of the combat otherwise; what's been shown so far looks rather simple. Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure gave its little sprites a wide assortment of different moves, so it sets the bar for this kind of thing. Since Wii is supposed to be the pinacle of unique, inspired gameplay, it should be held to a pretty high standard. 3. Localization I dislike bad translation efforts on part of developers; MegaMan X6 was particularly threadbare in this regard. To this end, I was actually glad when Bandai used the US dub voices for Advanced Adventure; it was a nice bit of extra work for a little GBA title. I want the same attention given to Revenge of King Piccolo; I don't even care if they call Nyoibo "Power Pole" and all that. As long as they keep the music the same, and it's a good quality effort, I'm in. 4. Dr. Slump Crossover Every time something related to the original Dragon Ball is released, I cross my fingers and pray that's they'll go the whole hog with it and bring in the Penguin Villagers for a guest spot. Sadly, judging by the select screen, this looks to be a no-show; there's a big Arale-chan shaped hole in between the Pirate Cave stage and the Karin Sanctuary stage. I'm not sure if there's any difficulties involving who owns the rights to Dr. Slump and who owns the rights to Dragon Ball (the Jump Super Star games have lots of problems with this), but Tenkaichi 3 proves that it is possible to bring these two series together for a game in the US. Heck knows I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Penguin Village stage or playable Arale. 5. Content As mentioned before, Dr. Slump stuff being present is a good indication of a complete Dragon Ball experience, but what we really need is content from the entire run of Dragon Ball. Advanced Adventure had that in spades: a load of different levels, with the option to mess around with almost any character, including Red Ribbon Army grunts (who needs Kamehameha when you have a machine gun?) Come on Bandai: bring on the playable characters and unlockable easter eggs! At least give us a West City stage or something! Edited by RisanF, Jul 23 2009, 05:26 PM.

This is the first time this games been mentioned, to me atleast. I've enever heard of it. Please keep us updated im sure more people would be interested. Sounds good. I hope they're getting all the DB characters in this one new game. Most games that've been coming out rarely have more then a few DB characters |

Its because us North Americans are to lazy to say a specific date. Which sucks. When I see movie or game trailers and they are like "Coming This Winter", i'm like, damn I live in Canada. That could be in like 8 months. |
