 confidence in your power seems to be all the rage in DBZ, broly had it, boy he was damn near unstoppable. when goku gets it? he kills. When gohan gets it? he rages...when vegeta gets it? HE REALLY RaGES! Bottom line about them is that if there is any chance at all they have to play it smart they will, its not about either one being a dummy, kid buu and fat buu copy off just watching. But buu absorbed piccolo for a reason, i was lucky enough to get someone else to put that up for me since you wanted to cut the quote in half about buu when he was trying to figure out how he could get an advantage on ultimate gohan. and it was pretty clear he needed BOTH elements too pull off his plan, otherwise piccolo WAS useless. But with piccolo PLUS gotenks power it would put him right over the edge so everyone thinking piccolos PL being absorbed didnt help much is sorely mistaken. Especially if buu just ADDS your power to his instead of integrating it.

Confidence means everything in a fight though, look at how many times gohan's lack of confidence has almost gotten him killed? (Cell for example)
So if Gohan was confident against Fat Boo, he would've done better?

Not make up for it, I told you he'd NEVER fight on equal ground, but he wouldn't face check a ki blast


Also, allow me to amend what i said.. It wasn't confidence alone that was the difference between Gohan then and Mystic Gohan.

I think Gohan was just desperate in general against Fat buu, like him crying about saving people etc.

Back on topic though, I don't think Gotenks Buu would have been able to pull off a win against Gohan in 30 minutes, and he would have defused.

 I think Kami Vegeta brings up a very valid point. And I think Bardock summed it up pretty well when he said that it doesn't take a whole lot of brains to know how to fight. I doubt that the lack of Piccolo's intelligence would've made such a difference as to enable Gohan to survive. If you remember, Super Buu exhibited a solid form of cunning when he trapped Gotenks and Piccolo into getting absorbed. Gohan himself didn't even see it coming. So Super Buu isn't as dumb as you think. He really doesn't need Piccolo to be able to beat Gohan. His recent intelligence was sufficient enough. All he really needed was the power.

 Piccolo knew how Super Boo formed, so he knew Boo could absorb. It was painfully obvious when Boo was like "No, I want the kids again" instead of trying to face Gohan. Even Piccolo was a bit curious as to why this was happening, so he knew something was up, just not what exactly.

Well, whatever you call it, Super Buu succeeded. And that's my point. Surprise attack, intelligence, cunning, he had enough of whatever he used to accomplish his goal and reap the power he craved. As was said... Kid Buu wasn't exactly the brightest light bulb himself and he still gave Goku a hard fight. The fact is Gohan was outclassed in power. So there really is no way he could kill Buutenks.

 none of the buus were actually stupid when it came to fighting. they were naive, sure, but they had the same level of talent for actual fighting displayed by goku or tien.

Well it did manage to slice Frieza into a shishkebab so it must've been packing more power than your average blade. Hell even Zelda's sword couldn't pull off that ****.
