It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Sorry for the dark theme, this is something me and my friends were talking about the other day. If you could find out to the very second the time you would die (e.g. 21st August 2064, 19:34:46) would you? And why/why not?

I would. Because then I'd know when I died. So if I thought I might die, I could be all:

"Hahaha, the joke is on you, I don't die now."

But that is of course assuming that I die fairly old. If it was like, next week, I'd probably be more upset and demand that I did things that I didn't get to do yet and try somehow to prevent it.

I wouldn't want to find out, I think Id spend my whole life trying to avoid it if I did. I would probably die trying to save my own life and every day that passes that I didn't accomplish anything, Id be thinking like "Oh great, one day down, 99,999 more to go, I'm just wasting my life away"

I once gave a Kangaroo a heart-attack just by staring at it

Part of me would like to know, part of me wouldn't.

The part that would want to know, would because I could prepare for it. I could look death in the face and say "I'm ready." It would make me live life to the fullest. But I think that knowing that would make me always think "I could try to do something, but I'll just die anyway."

The part that wouldn't, wouldn't because I'm not afriad of dying. Like the Pink Floyd song "The Great Gig in the Sky" says: "I'm not afraid of dying, any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be afraid of dying? There's no reason for it."
and I belive that that is true. I'm not frightened of death. I'd be more interested in how I die. I'd rather know that I died of age, or of spontaneous combustion, than the date and time.

I would never prepare it though. I'm not sure why I chose that date. Part of me think it's good because it will be just after dinner, with my family.

I would refuse to know. If I found out, I would spend the rest of my life trying to change it, or wondering about it. It would just be better to not know, and have it come as a surprise, then to know, and scared days before.

Doesn't matter to me. I will die, that's certain. Whether or not I know when I really couldn't care less. I try to live everyday to the fullest.

I think I'd rather not know. Because personally I'd probably just be waiting for the day to come and ruing all my missed chances, experiences etc. I'd rather not know and then just live my life as I live it with no pressure to do exciting things, just do them as they come in life.

I don't think id want to know. Rather not know, because when you know even if you now think you would do whatever you wanted to enjoy those last days, part of you would feel incredibly crappy for knowing your time was coming closer and closer

P.S sorry when I say you,. I pretty much mean me, cause I can only speak for myself

I would because I think it would be easier to prepare for it. Also if your death is avoidable I would like to see if anything strange would happen if you avoided it, like If I got run over (by accident) on like 20th august 2021 or something and then not go out that day.

Wut???

Yes i would like to know...Why?

So if i die, lets say burn to death i would know when that would happen. Meaning it gives me a chance to change the path of Fate.

I'd like to know just out of curiosity. I'd live my life out to the fullest if I were to die a year from now or something like that. Whether I find out or not well that will be up to God to decide.

Dont care. I die when i die, i dont believe their is a set date it will just happen.

However IF someone could tell me when and how i would die so be it, i will continue living as i have done and embrace everything as normal, probably take a few risks since i know these events will not end as badly as death.

Means that my family will be better prepared and i can support them as best as possible after i die if i have the time.

I wouldnt tell anyone just in case it didnt happen but i would make preparations to make it easier for them. In terms of money and notes on how i am so nephews and nieces and family would know me and not feel abandoned.

I would want to know and the main reason would be, because I have a daughter. If it was soon I'd want to spend as much time with her as I possibly could before I die.

There's no point in wanting to know when you're going to die. Then your life starts counting down instead of counting up - if you know what I mean.

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good!'
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
