Who do you think would win between Grandpa Gohan and Master Roshi? I think Master Roshi would win but what about you? |

Didn't Roshi train Gohan? I might be getting it backwards. It's been so long since I've watched/read DB... But Roshi used to be the strongest fighter on Earth before Goku and Piccolo. So I'm also going with Roshi. |

Goku fought Grandpa Gohan three years before the second tournament. Goku was able to easily take a full power skydiving kick from Gohan. He just stood there, braced himself and took it. Even Gohan was surprised at that. Once Goku's tail came off, Gohan knew he couldn't win, and promptly surrendered. From that, I can confidently say Goku would of been a fair deal stronger then Grandpa Gohan at that time. Three years passed, Goku got stronger and stronger during that time, training himself while travelling the world. At the second tournament, everyone was surprised at his strength. By this time he would of been able to beat Gohan without much effort at all. Moving on, Master Roshi Vs. Tien. They seemed pretty even, though Tien would of likely won in the end. By a little. Goku was almost, if not, equal to Tien, meaning Roshi should of been almost equal to both of them at the second tournament. So, Roshi is about equal to Goku/Tien at the second tournament, perhaps a tiny bit weaker. Goku was at that point much stronger then when he fought Grandpa Gohan, and he was already stronger then Gohan when he did fight him three years ago. Therefore, Roshi would beat Grandpa Gohan without much effort. |

Grandpa Gohan would win. The fight between Roshi and Kid Goku at the 1st tournament they were prty even until Roshi use his electric attack so therefore if he didn't use it they would probably b a close fight. This Goku would later b own by General Tao. Grandpa Gohan fought equally with the later Kid Goku who beated General Tao so that mean he beated a Kid Goku who was stronger than the 1 Roshi fought. This is also the Goku that Roshi commented had surpassed him. Grandpa Gohan > Roshi no question about it. They were equal because Tien lack the experience Roshi had. Remember DB is not like DBZ, experience > power there. |

No. You pretty much ignored most of what I said and just made up your own argument instead of disproving mine.I firmly believe Roshi was not going all out. He blew up the moon for Christ sake. The amount of energy that would of taken out of him that early in the Dragonball series would be huge, and he still won. Tien was repeatedly head butting Roshi and he was taking it. If he had been much weaker (as your argument implies) then he would have got absolutely thrashed. Skill is a bigger factor in Dragonball but not when your crazily outmatched. However, it is pretty obvious that Akira had second thoughts about Goku surpassing Roshi as early as he did and changed Roshi to be stronger then he was before at the second tournament. As Roshi's strength at the second tournament was Akira's final decision on his strength, and was the later showing of it, it overrides any earlier examples of Roshi's power. |
