I never understood why Mystic Gohan never goes Super Saiyan, especially when he starts getting his ***** handed to him by Super Buu. Does anyone know? |

From my understanding that was his ultimate form, his hidden power. So going ssj wouldn't do anything, might even take power away. Kinda like when trunks transformed during the cell saga's, he got more power, but it also took it away due to slowing him down, so it hindered him. So I think that mystic was his full ability. Cause it is said to be a little more powerful than ssj3, so going to ssj would not help. but thats just how i took it, i may be wrong. |

If it was stronger than SSJ 3 he woudl've be able to defeat him, becausewhen vegeta goes to fight kid buu goku says after vegeta gets beatean up (i think) he could've beaten him but he wanted vegeta t have a turn and he as SSJ3. |

Yea, but if you notice gohan doesn't really have the fighting spirit. Like when he fought cell, he messed around to long and almost got beat, when he really could of taken him out in 2 punches. It is the same way with buu. He would of won until buu absorbed gotenks and the rest. |

Yup Trickster is right, Mystic Gohan is as powerful, maybe a little more powerful, than a SSJ3. He just got cocky again and messed around with Buu and then got out-witted. Also, Elder Kai says that he doesn't like all the flashy SSJ transformations so made it so Gohan didn't have to transform (or something along those lines). |

Yea, and it would be so much better that way. I would rather power up for 10 seconds and be full power, than do it for 5 min to get to ssj3, then last for 10 min and run out or power. |

Gohan loses the ability to become a Super Saiyan as it is replaced by his Mystic/Ultimate form. When Gohan asks the old Kai how he will know if his new powers work, he just replys "Just do that Super Saiyan thing you always do, it'll happen...just make sure you let it". Also, Mystic Gohan is far more powerful then SSJ3 Goku, not just a bit or equal. Mystic is also far more efficient in conserving power. |

It still doesn't make sense to me. Super saiyan multiplies their power, it doesn't have an exact level of its own. He should still get more powerful when he transforms. Also, while I realize it's non canon, he is able to go SS in GT. |

But that's because GT is non canon. They screwed up by making him go Super Saiyan, plain and simple. Not the only plot hole GT has either. Mystic is a transformation in itself, he no longer has SSJ. He does what he does to normally become SSJ, but becomes Mystic instead. Just because his hair doesn't change colour doesn't mean its not a transformation. Mystic isn't his base form. The Super Saiyan transformation is replaced by the Mystic one. |

I can't believe Psyam was the only one that picked up on that... Once you go Mystic you can't go SSJ anymore as it is it's own permanent transformation. Once it's happened there's no going back and no SSJ either. |

hey what do you mean, i was the first one to answer and i said the same thing.  I may not of said he couldn't go ssj, but i did say it wouldn't do anything. cause he is already past that.
