How much does the Z sword weights? I remember that Gohan was at ssj2 and he still had trouble lifting that sword in the beginning. It must be at least 100 tons or maybe more...what do you guys think? |

It was made out of the strongest metal on earth, or something like that, so Id imagine it would weigh alot, but I dont think it could weigh 100 tons because when Goku was training at King Kais, he couldnt move when 10 tons were on his hands and legs. |

No idea to be honest. But, I'd be willing to bet it's not a ridiculous amount. The DBZ characters don't actually seem to have much lifting power, its just that they imbue their attacks with ki. Goku seemed to half struggle to lift up the rock he threw at Gohan when they were testing the Z sword. In a similar (though filler) scenario, Goku and Piccolo seemed to actually have to put an effort in to hold a bus in the air. |

Well ,I remember Gohan lifting entire passenger jet (The size of Boeing 747) without even making an effort. It was at the time when he was playing the Great Saiyaman superhero. Yeah, there are a lot of inconsistencies in DBZ, but I say that they have tremendous lifting power. Goku did say that that rock was a "small one". So he must be able to lift and throw the "big one" no problem. |

Gohan struggled to remove the Z sword in his base form, right? Then he powered up to Super saiyan (in the manga it appears to be only the 1st SSJ level not too sure about the anime if it is SSJ2) and mightily struggled but successfully removed the Z sword from the pillar of rock. Then doesnt he power down to his base form and although he finds it awkward to wield he can still hold it and claims that it IS really heavy? There was never any mention of what it was made out of, they do try it out on THE hardest material in the universe where it thus snaps in two when Goku launches it at Gohan as he takes a swing with the sword. I know this is never said and the sword just appears to be incredibly heavy but maybe its like Thors hammer (Mjolnir) whereby only someone worthy of heart and spirit can lift it (or however the saying goes). That would have made more sense but i think it is just an incredibly heavy weapon, nothing more. In regards to how much Goku can lift, who knows. i mean the scene where he is traing in the other world and has weights on his limbs increased to 10 tons each (i think he is initially traing with 2 tons weights in base form) and has to go Super Saiyan to easily manage them, well that doesnt mean he can only lift like say 40 tons far from it. I do boxing and can lift a fair amount bench pressing (like 70kg give or take some kilos, i weigh 64kg- 10 stone) but when you punch the air with weights in your hands (like just 2kg) it really is surprisingly hard. So Goku can probably lift a huge amount more in comparison to what he wearing on his arms and legs. Oh last thing. In regards to Goku and co. struggling to lift certain objects or heavy weight this is really just to creat some drama so the viewers at home can feel like there is some sort of threat or struggle for our heroes to endure. Even though its pretty daft to see, knowing that these guys can throw pebbles through mountains and can blow up planets and such. Peace.

lol sorry about that, I should watch the episodes again I did remember something about the strongest metal lol, guess it wasnt the sword. I like your theory about the Thorus Hammer, this could be true with the Z sword because Gohan was chosen and all, plus he did have a pure heart |
