Into thinking, that the explosion would have been the definite end of Cell himself, and the entire planet. |

cell thought he was gonna die too....he says so when he comes back how he learned geros ultimate intention and the brilliance of his design (he was the universes end) he also didnt know he'd come back perfect or that 1 cell could re-create him. episodes 174 and 175 (276 episodes version) reveal that. my hunch is it was just one of the many ithings that dont make sense but ive been very curious if im wrong since i can name off like 20 different situations where they screwed it up when translating to english (but i wont :P) Edited by darkdestruction420, Mar 8 2009, 12:25 PM.

lol, I think Goku just assumed he was tricked and Cell simply learned a new ability of his to make himself even more "perfect" |

Damaged's post is correct. Its pretty obvious what he meant. Cell said he was going to blow himself up since he couldn't win to destroy the planet. He didn't know he would come back. But when Goku teleported him away he gained Goku's ability and one of his cells survived. So when he reformed he was stronger and had the teleportation ability to get back to Earth. Maybe Cell asked Goku to use Instant Transmission to show him what it was like, promise he wouldn't steal it and then at the last minute kicked Goku in the nuts and Instant Transmission-ed away. |

I like mitas's theory. I think cell tricked him into showing it to him. But no, I agree, because goku did it while touching him, he gained the ability. |

About episode 153-154, Cell notices Goku's Instant Transmission and he says something like, "I need to learn how to do that", then reviewing these comments it is possible that he did in fact trick Goku to learn it by getting teleported himself or somehow getting some of his cells. |
