I once gave a Kangaroo a heart-attack just by staring at it

Okay, I've been having this problem for about 6 months now, but I just thought my mouse was broken. Anyways:

Like I said, about 6-7 months ago, my mouse started randomly moving to one corner of the screen, often when I clicked, resulting in the closure of whatever I was currently doing. Having just bought a new mouse, the problem persists. It never happens at regular intervals, or at certain times. Can anybody help?

Normally that happens when the laser of an optical mouse is having trouble distinguishing a mouse pad under it. I find if it's on a hard wood or painted surface a mouse does this all the time so i got a real mouse pad and it stopped

If it's nothing else then it is just the mouse program itself, it's nothing to worry about, just keep an eye on it or get a mouse that's not optical

Nevermind, I changed from using a mousemat to a wad of paper, seems to be working fine now. Thanks :D

I'd suggest the long term fix of a new mouse, they cost about £2 - £5 for a basic one? My mouse mat is dirty, coffee/tea stains mostly and my mouse works without problems.

if you notice he's already explained he bought a new mouse to try and correct the problem, the issue is the laser is reflecting off something that is causing it to do that, the fact that a pad of paper worked is not surprising

I'm actually pretty surprised the problem was so easy to fix, though my new mouse is epic. So yeah, this can close,

Thanks to both of you

I missed that bit, my reading is pretty terrible, infact I only noticed it after you pointed it out, happens more times that I want it to.
