I don't think this would be deep discussion, but that's not for me to decide lol I've only ever used a PC so I'm obviously going to say PC. I don't actually know how MACs are different and what they're like though. As for PCs, I'm more than happy with mine, never had anything to complain about. I like the way it's set-up, I know where everything is and it's kept pretty tidy. |

For schoolwork you can't really go wrong either way. They both do word processing and let you do research and things like that so it doesn't really matter. |

Wow, never thought that I'll see this kind of discussion on a dbz forum. Anyways, I've only used PCs before, never a mac, however, let's put it this way. PCs are more useful than Macs. How you ask? - First off, anything you can do with a mac, you can do with a PC. Simple as that. There is NO argument here, you can word process, edit movies, etc.... with either a PC or a mac. - Second, if you want to play any game, PCs are the way to go, with macs, you're pretty limited gamewise. Everyone knows that PC are winners when it comes to games, so, if you like to game, even the occassional one, there is a chance that it won't work on the Mac. Only game companies that design Mac games are Blizzard and ID. - Third, when you consider cost, PCs destroy macs. There is no comparison at all. Let's say your budget is $1000, you can get a PC which is a lot more superior in terms of parts and power to a Mac. Even if you don't pay for it, I would recommend that you go for a PC over a mac, however, BUILD your own PC. I built my own a little less than 2 years ago, saved some money in the process and it's been running fine ever since. If you are interested in building your own and need some advice, more info, etc.... head over to the Nvidia forums. I'm a regular there, less active lately, but, everyone there will help you and link you to parts, steps, etc.... Once you do build it, you'll never go back to buying store made ones again, because, you'll see the huge difference in cost and feel the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Tell us what you decide

Macs are pretty and all, but the functions can differ from PCs which annoys me. Plus, if something breaks, they are pretty hard to fix from my understanding... |

Fixing a mac is like trying to fix a cut on your skin. Except, it doesn't heal over time, it just sits there like a pile of garbage until the new parts arrive. So in essence its not like an open wound at all. It's just a piece of crap. |

I don't care to much about playing games on computers, I have an Xbox for that. I'm looking for something that will get my schoolwork done, music, and video. BigFan did you build your own desktop or laptop? PC more like $500-$800 and mac $1200-$2500 My minds made up, I don't know anything about Macs plus I found an hp I liked. |

Actually it's the other way around considering macs allow you to add any Windows operating system. |

And vice versa. You can dual boot any OS on any pc as long as it's still a PC. |
