Kid buu is the next strongest and ss3 goku could have beaten him if he didn't run out of energy so fast.

Chou Gohan beated Super Buu effortlessly so Chou Gohan > Super Buu. When Goku was inside Super Buu he said "Vegeta even if we fight Super Buu (w/o the absorbtion) we would of still lost" even in the anime so Super Buu > SSJ3 Goku + SSJ2 Vegeta. If we put those 2gether Chou Gohan > Super Buu > SSJ3 Goku + SSJ2 Vegeta.

He was actually intended to be the main character at the end, but Akira thought that fans wouldn't like to see Goku overtaken. The way you have to think about is that Gohan was basically at SSJ3. The Elder Kai awakened all his latent power so that he didn't need to transform at all. Gohan has the potential to be stronger than Goku because a Saiyan-Human combination is more powerful than pure Saiyans, hence why Gohan, Trunks and Goten are so strong.

So with that in mind, I'd say Gohan would win.

But I think with Goku's experience and being able to read his opponents, he would come out on top. He always seems to be able to create a plan of attack.

Posts: 146 Group: Member Member #3,866 Joined: December 21, 2008 Favourite Anime dbz,naruto,yuyuhakusho,inuyasha,rurouni kenshin,bleach	Mystic gohan and ssj3 goku are even some what.though if goku would not get tired while being ssj3 then he could win.but since this is the buu saga and mystic gohan is the strongest unfused character he could overall win but with major difficulty since it is goku.also at this time goku told majinbuu that gotenks was stronger than he was when they fought.so I believe roughly mystic gohan would win.since the ssj3 form does tire goku.and with mystic gohan being the strongest unfused character.
