If I Don't Who Will?

I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if there was a DBZ games with a large scale free roam ability? Kinda like the Incredible Hulk or the GTA "sandbox" type play. Just imagine being able to fight across the globe with opponent instead of being restricted to 1 battle stage. You could also destroy cities, and cause enough trouble to draw a fighters atention. What do you think? Would that make for a good DBZ game? |

I'm planning on eventually making a fighting game for my "rebirth" series. It would allow destructable stages, and probably 3 different character levels for each character (Normal, which would be like playing with characters from naruto, jumping around and being able to move quickly while doing damage to the surroundings. Hero, which would be like playing with bleach characters, some fly while others create levels of terrain in order to get higher altitude, attacks are huge and you can blow up buildings with them. and Demi-god, like using DBZ characters, except some of them are 4 stories tall, like hildegarn, and your attacks blow up sections of the stage, and normal sized characters move so fast theres a little circle like aura of energy around them, sort of as a visual indicator to show you where your at on the screen since it's zoomed out so much to show your attacks, way epic) there could be a forth level, where you just use a whole planet as your stage, but that would require PS3 and I don't intend on going there until it's way famous and I have that kind of budget.... anywho, yeah, DBZ would work with that same system perfectly. the only game I can think of that comes close is somthing like Power Stone for the dream cast, but your not as epic as DBZ, so not really. |

I'd love a game like that, it would be deadly to free roam. |

Sagas was more like an adventure game with multiple opponents, I thought it was good (but hard) Well the Tenkaichi(sp?) games are kind of like that right? And a problem with being too large is you may lose your opponent in the HUGE worlds. |

Tenkiechi is kinda like that, but it's limited as far as individuality between characters. I'm thinking something more like a Devil May Cry System of Combat, but side view like traditional styles, or split screen and cameras that optimize your viewing space based on the level and it's surroundings that stay fixed on your opponent too. it would take a ton of programming though, and so it's a distant goal, nothing you will see in the next few years, since I'm sure current gaming developers don't want to push the fighting genre to that level of awesome all at once lol |
