If anything in the anime contradicts the manga, always go with what the manga said and not the anime.

Lets just put it this way, some people like to follow the actual series that was shown on TV and some people like to go with the manga, even though what you just said was right.

It beats the anime, because it sticks with the original idea, directly of Akira Toriyama's head. i think it depends on which u see first (for example i saw dbz anime way b4 the manga so i prefer the anime. example 2- i saw naruto manga b4 the anime so for naruto i like manga best) i know manga is the only canon source (and them guidebook things they've put out too) for dbz but i also liked the non-canon parts on dbz but narutos is just terrible with its filler anime

Those who read the manga first will likely stick to it and those watched the anime first will stick to it. The only exception I see is if the manga is ahead of the anime then that can be a reason. When I watched naruto, I enjoyed it, but, the fillers and the slowness of it got to me, so, I don't watch the naruto anime, but, only read the manga whenever it comes out. As for dbz, I started watching the anime and I will likely stick with the anime. Unlikely, Naruto where fighting is on a smaller scale, dbz is better to watch as an anime because the fighting is on a huge scale with many different effects for both the characters and their moves

Just DBZ/GT. And yeah everyone was right about Trunks able to achieve Super Saiyan Before Gohan's death.
