I was thinking about this but in alot of Mangas (Animes) Something is with the Main characters Parents, like one or both has died or is missing. Do you think there is a reason for this? Some of the Mangas where I definitly know that the main character has lost one or both parents: Bleach, Mother Died. Naruto, Both Parents Died. Air Gear, Both parents Died. Fairy Tail, both Parents Died. Hajime No Ippo, Father Died. |

It's a way of singling out the main character. It shows they've lived (often) without acknowledgement or praise. Yet they've overcome that emptiness to become stronger. And the writers often feel that being an orphan makes for a more interesting background story for supporting characters. |
