This is to abolish in a sense the forum moderators which would result in some losing their position and others being moved to Super Moderator. The duties of forum moderators would be passed to Ministers who would have limited powers in sections (Close/Open, Pin/Unpin, Move, Combine, Edit) but not able to warn. This would mean that ministers would be like moderators who are elected. Moderators who would be demoted: Fran Gays - Test account Narusuke - Inactive Troubled - Inactive Moderators who would be promoted: -Sя.DeSi ChIcO Pineapple AngelicHottieDS Joker Snake ViBE Man However this would lead to 11 Super Moderators so it could mean asking some to stand down from their position if this went ahead. The reason I am suggesting this is because there are a lot more staff active than members and I feel the mod structure needs a change. Please post your thoughts and suggestions. Vote yay if you agree with this. Vote nay if you don't agree. Vote abstain if you don't care. If the majority of this are yays then this will move to the 2nd Phase. If the majority is nay then all suggestions posted will be considered for a future motion. If the majority is abstain then the decision will fall on the second highest votes. |

Nay, we do not need 11 Super Mods. I think that it could be considered for later. Perhaps when some of those people no longer come here. I have nothing against any of the people there. But I think that 11 SMods is WAY too much. |

This is something that's always opposed for that reason it seems. Look at it this way, those forum moderators are just being moved to a new group, this doesn't limited the ammount of moderators the forum has, there are currently 9 forum mods and 5 super mods. 9 + 5 = 14 So there are 14 moderators in total already. |

I say yes, but this needs some more discussion and thought put into it. I'll post my thoughts later. |

First of all, I really don't want to come across as a mean/selfish/ person who doesn't care about the others with this post, but I honestly feel like there should only be super mods, and some current mods/super mods who are too inconstant and get inactive too often or aren't contributing at all should be moved to a special group, which allowed them to see the elite and staff section, and possibly have some basic control over the forum, but that would be just about it. I myself have felt countless times that I couldn't do much to help when something was going wrong in some other area other than the Discussion one. I believe that at this point, knowing the staff members so well like I think we know, and trusting them, it is more than logic to let people help fully and moderate all the areas. I honestly couldn't care less about power or getting more power from being promoted, or feeling higher in the dbzf hierarchy (lol I kinda laughed while typing this), I truly never cared about that. This is a forum, I've always been against overusing your mod powers to close and edit topics and posts, or using them just to prove your authority towards someone, that is just ridiculous. What really matters is that everything goes so fine that you DON'T have to use your powers, when that happens, you know things are going well, and it's all about trying to keep this place active, fun, and trying to connect with the members. That's what I've always tried to do, that's why sometimes I get PMs by new members telling me I'm cool and thanking me for being nice to them and showing interest in getting to know them. I am not bragging, just opening up the game because I support this idea and like Kotetsu said, it needs to be spoken and debated, but it has everything to do fine. I also wanted to say that I believe most of the Super Mods got a bit lazy lately, and I can't understand why, especially since I see them online more often than I see them contributing. I understand everybody has their personal lives and that should be their main priority (like it is mine), but if people have time to get online, they also have time to actually try to contribute, even if it's just by posting. And Mike, I don't know if we need 11 Super Mods or not, we probably don't, but I do think we need Super Mods a lot more than Mods, because Mods just can't do much, and that's a fact. I'll develop my thoughts a bit more later, but I think I said a big deal of what I wanted to say on a first post, let's see how this goes. |

I agree with this statement. I also wanted to add that I just spent about an hour reorganizing the top layer of the dbz area the other day. There was stuff everywhere that it shouldn't be. Live action movie topics ALL OVER the place. We can't blame anyone but ourselves for the mess. We have new members who sign up just to make one topic, and maybe reply once to that same topic, and never come back. That is the main force behind the dbz area. They don't read rules, or organizational rules and just post wherever they want. I say if nothing happens, we need someone who is willing to keep up with the organization of the dbz area. To make a serious effort in keeping it clean. Edited by Kotetsu, Dec 17 2008, 09:47 PM.

I'm waiting for more opinions before moving this forward, suggestions would be good to so it can be revised for phase two. |
