Roma Chelsea Panathinaikos Internazionale Barcelona Sporting CP Liverpool Atlético Madrid Manchester United Villarreal Bayern Lyon Porto Arsenal Juventus Real Madrid Those 16 teams have gotten past the group stage of the Champions League. Round 2 starts in February. Personaly my favorite team isn't in here, so therefore I wish best of luck to Roma and Juventus. I've seen a couple of games, here and there. Juventus played very satisfactionary against Madrid, they shut the door, and Del Pierro stepped up. without Buffon in nets, they had an above average group. Barcelona was just crazy, I think they should win.. though I hope they don't I think they have the best soccer team in this tournament. they have the power of an EPL team and the intelligance of a serie a team. I was surprised Roma dominated Chelsea, but then again it's only round 1. |

lol.. Real Madrid is still in. They finished tied with Juve with 12 points each, but Juventus won 2 games vs Real Madrid so Juventus clinched 1st place in the group. |

I'll be cheering on Liverpool, the team I support. I think we have a relatively good chance this year, like we have done the past few years. However, I think the fact that we are actually in the title race for the Premiership may work against us. We have some quality players, but our back up is mainly youngsters or above average players. |

Mitas, what do you think about the upcoming round match up. It's swell that the Italian team have a rematch against the English teams, last year they didn't fair so well against teams from the island. Maybe this year they can get their revenge. I have a hunch that Inter has what it takes to knock out the defending champions. I'll try and find the other matchups... wait for my post to get edited.. Here you go, some good matches Chelsea V Juventus Liverpool V Real Madrid Manchester United V Inter Milan Arsenal V Roma Atletico Madrid V FC Porto Villareal vs. Panathinaikos Sporting vs. Bayern Munich Lyon vs. Barcelona I hope to Christ that Juve can win, it's going to be hard though.. but it;s going to be a big test. Other than that, Barcelona has a ticket to the quarters.. and Villareal will be playing the Dark Horse of Greece. Edited by .Punxx, Dec 20 2008, 03:56 PM.

Definately some great matches there. I'll be booking both days of work for the 1st and 2nd legs of the Liverpool game :P I think we have a great chance of beating Real, what with the troubles they've been having in La Liga. We always seem to up our game in Europe, so I'm confident we'll be able to do so against Real. I think each of the Italian teams has a good chance of going through. Arsenal aren't impressing at the moment, so Roma could be a trouble. Inter are flying in Serie A (I think, correct me if I'm wrong lol) and will definately give Man U a hard run. Also, Chelsea haven't been doing well in Europe so Juve could sneak a win. Also, all of them have the return home legs, which is always an advantage. Just for fun I'll make some predictions :P The winners in bold font. Chelsea V Juventus Liverpool V Real Madrid Manchester United V Inter Milan Arsenal V Roma Atletico Madrid V FC Porto Villareal vs. Panathinaikos Sporting vs. Bayern Munich Lyon vs. Barcelona |

Chelsea V Juventus Liverpool V Real Madrid Manchester United V Inter Milan Arsenal V Roma Atletico Madrid V FC Porto Villareal vs. Panathinaikos Sporting vs. Bayern Munich Lyon vs. Barcelona We basically disagree on Chelsea, Bayern, and Roma. I don't jave much faith in Roma, as they always find somewhere to ***** up. To be fairly honest, I was rooting for Juve all torunament long.. in respect to my friend. And Sporting is somewhat impressive for once. btw Inter Milan lost 3 matches this year. 2 in Europe, 1 in Serie A. Their loss in Serie A, they didn't go that far. It was a 1-0 defeat to AC Milan. |

I think Manchester United could probably beat Inter Milan to be honest, I mean they've done it before and they are pretty decent in Europe. They will want to try to keep hold of the Europen Cup too. |

Chelsea V Juventus Liverpool V Real Madrid Manchester United V Inter Milan Arsenal V Roma Atletico Madrid V FC Porto Villareal vs. Panathinaikos Sporting vs. Bayern Munich Lyon vs. Barcelona There all pretty much hunches,as it's hard to distinguish between them. The reason I think Real Madrid will beat Liverpool is down to the fact Liverpool are doing so well in the Premiership, slightly flawed logic I know, but it seems Liverpool always do well in the Champions League and not the Premiership, where as I can see a reversal this season (and it's high time Real had a good Champions League). |

Well my team is F.C. Porto and they are still in it to the quarter finals, though I doubt they will win the whole thing so if Porto gets eliminated I'll be rooting for Manchester |
