New Dragonball Special! Discussion

 That pretty much sums up what I think about the movie, Emperor Cold. The only difference is that if I had to rate it, I wouldn't be as generous as you were, I'd probably give the movie 5/10.

I don't believe Toriyama wrote it, at least from the comments I read on youtube, everybody was saying it wasn't a Toriyama's production.

But yeah, it does feel like they wanted all characters to show up, but they were there just for the sake of being there. At first I liked the idea of bringing characters back like Launch, but from what I remember, we can't even hear her voice during the whole movie lol.

Krillin and Yamcha stepped into the fight to help at one point, but it also felt like they were doing it just to please the fans who haven't seen any action from their favorite characters in a long time. They did their two signature attacks and they were done after it.

I understand this is supposed to be a movie to reunite the most famous characters, and so I can see why some of the things happened the way they did, but I still think that if they wanted to bring DBZ back in a movie, they could have worked a lot harder to give the fans something as good as they were used to see back in the days.

Are you on the English version of their site? There is a subbed version.

Just Youtube it if your having trouble, that's what I had to do (it wasn't working on my laptop.)

Isn't it frustrating how Vegeta's young brother is introduced?

He just shows up, Vegeta says he's his brother, and that's it.
That bothered me too. His back-story could be summed up in three sentences and there was hardly any interaction between him and the other characters. He disappeared during the second half, lol reminds me of GT.

Goku mentions that it had "been a long time" since he'd seen Roshi's Turtle, yet nothing about Lunch, who we haven't seen in the series since DB. Lmao.

Ah, I see. It will probably be a while before a dubbed version is released. Funimation probably won't dub it until the Japanese version is released on DVD.

 Sounds really nice to hear, its been so long since I last saw Dragonball and this will just bring back all the old memories from when I was younger... Well I hope that it will be a good movie (even though no Dragonball movie can be bad ;O)... I'm seeing forward to see this movie XD

I believe he had three, all of them one liners: 1."Gohan!" 2."Still too weak!" 3. "Makankosappo!" (oh god I hope I spelled that right)

 I speak Japanese, but I still can't stand to watch Japanese episodes of DBZ. They gave Goku such a feminine voice that it irritates me to no end.

That said, the special was decent enough. No Tien or Chiaotzu though, which sucked.

 That was great. I hope for more.
It was about 30 minutes long, and the animation was pretty good. The voices didn't really bother me either. I was just happy to see another dbz special come out.
