Photoshop Beginner: Where to begin?

Posts: 411 Group: Member Member #3,762 Joined: October 21, 2008 Favourite Anime Dragonball, Yu Yu Hakusho Favourite Manga Eyeshield 21, NANA, Count Cain	So I'm finally getting Photoshop... but I don't really know where to begin. I'll be taking classes after Winter break, but I want to get a head start. I want to use it for graphics, layouts, icons, and digital coloring. Any tutorial/advice/recommendations for newbies? I've used Gimp and Adobe Illustrator in the past so I know the most basic of basics.

Firefox	Start by kind of messing around photoshop. Learn about some of the new tools you've never seened before in GIMP. Mess around with filters and after that, start reading basic tutorials on simple things like flaming text (very basic) and such...
