Some people are cowards

I was driving home from the doctor's with my mother, and we witnessed two guys fighting. One of them had a group of guys supporting him while the other had blood all over his face. None of the watchers called the cops. For some reason, there are many cowards in this world, who would rather watch someone get beaten senselessly than be noble citizens.

What satisfaction did that guy have of beating a guy to a bloody pulp? What possible glory can there be? :@ I have no idea what this world is coming to. :@

Science proves that when there are multiple people witnessing a crime, people are less likely to call the police because they think someone else will do it.

I didn't call the police because I'm not a resident of the area, which means I don't know the number to the police station or else I would have.

What if a man was trying to rob you at knife point? Is violence still not the answer?

I once gave a Kangaroo a heart-attack just by staring at it

You didn't know the circumstances of the event. Perhaps the blood-faced man had started on the other guy? And the other guy just happened to be stronger/ better at fighting than the first guy.

Both men could have been under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant/mood enhancing drug. If both men were pretty annoyed at something then both would seek a fight. Or a small occurance may have caused one to over-react.

I agree with you. That the men watching should have called the police. But they were probably drunk too. Common sense leaves people when they're drunk. But I'm surprised pasers by didn't call them. Or even try to break up the fight

Why didn't you ask someone who was around there to give you the number?

Do you know how the fight ended?
It really sucks to hear this type of things. It frustastes the hell out of me to see man having such an irrational behavior.

Very true. We always talked about this in my intro to psych class. It's easier to not make the effort and to blend in.

it looks like a bad situation, but sometimes you just dont know whats going on

anything could of happened but being a passer by you just dont know

if it were a useless situation then yeah a call to the cops may have helped\

but you jus never know.. i mean they could have been irish

those people beat each other to pulps and then pick each other up and hug then go hav ea beer

doesnt make sense to me but its like that lol

I hate violence, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let myself get killed for it. If it is necessary then I'll have no choice but to use it. However I have been threatened of being jumped for dumb reasons such as people talking crap I respond and they get pissed. There is so much pointless violence around I wish it didn't exist period. And someone showing up to you with a knife is basically already violence. I only like violence in Video Games and Movies, and why? Because I know it's not real it was all acting, but in real life... that is a different story

Isn't there a standard emergancy number that you call? In the UK you can call 999 from anywhere if you need the police, you don't need the station number, just so long as you know the name of the street then you shouldn't have a problem telling the police where it is.

The emergancy service send out a message to all police and those closest to the area that are avalible will respond to it as well as probably sending an ambulance out.

I'd give him what he wanted, that's if I was carrying any money or anything that is considered valubal in the first place, which isn't too often. What's the point risking my life over money? Money can be replaced, a life can't.

As for the situtation we dont really know what it was. The guy who had blood around could have done countless things to disturb the area or maybe even that one person. We don't know that the one person who was beating him was supported by others. You could have simply called 911 and at least reported it, but you didn't. The people could have called the police but maybe they just weren't there yet. You can't really know if the people around the 2 were supporting the guy or just spectating. There are many many possiblities for the situation to have occured and not change when u were there. If you were there the whole time from start to finish of the fight and maybe asked the peers around you then maybe you would have a better understanding of what was happening and possibly done something but you didn't b/c ylou simply didn't know. You can't make accusations about others.

As for the topic of cowards. Yes there are cowards everywhere. People who just stand there are not always cowards though. They just don't care enough to do anything, why bother, you dont know what might have happened in prior events. The world isn't full of heroes and people that care enough. If we had a place full of caring people then we wouldn't have places like darfer and hungry people nor would we have half the problems we do now a day. Cowards are among the world everywhere. Not caring enough doesn't always mean people are cowards, they just dont care. Heroism is at times considered reckless and stupid the concept of coward"ism" is safer. If your lucky u'll get ur name in the paper on the other hand the person you stand up for or stir up could have a gun or fist like iron and bash ur face too. So in order words a day of fame or a bloody bruised face or just walk away. There are some situations where you have to stand up and fight but other times where you just get over it, deal with it and move on.
