I look in the mirror and I say "Whos a handsome boy", "You are". "No you are".

^_^ It really helps.

Gah. I seem to get paranoid and jealous a lot of the time, so I guess I've got pretty low self-esteem and am pretty insecure. But I can't stop, and it's starting to really get on my nerves. I need to fix it somehow, but just not sure how to shove my foot up its arse. I know it's got to really be getting on my fiancee's nerves, too. Even if she doesn't really show it. I mean... it has to... but anyway, low self-esteem is basically the cause for jealousy, right?
I'm going through the same thing.

Jealousy really can agitate a person GREATLY. I'm learning that through self experience. I'm also learning that it can potentially damage a friendship beyond repair if it isn't controlled or caught in time.

My cure was just putting up a wall period. None of my feelings get out, no one else gets in. Its the only thing you can do, because honestly, it takes alot to get over jealousy.
Thing is, for me I'm a really clingy person. I always attach myself to whoever I can because it always feels like everyone ignores me. I don't think I could put up a defensive wall like that. I guess I might have to just try my hand at tackling the problem... and see how that goes...

And having friends must be really cool, Bulla. I myself don't really have any, except maybe 1 or 2. Never really have.
I'm also VERY clingy, lol. We have alot in common. But it might be harder for you since you're in a relationship maybe...?

Sometimes I catch myself , and sometimes I don't. It's just something I have to learn to keep to myself about, even though it's hard cause I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I can't commit myself to a relationship yet, because I'm not ready to deal with the pressure of having one. Such as jealousy, clinginess, etc. Once I calm that down, I thin k I'll be good. ^_^

I really wish you the best of luck. That is really something hard to deal with.

It I just keep asking myself, why does it matter so much what a bunch of strangers think?
I ask myself the same question, everytime I walk outside, I think about what others are thinking, though I'm at the point where I wonder what everyone close to me thinks as well, lol.

I've known my self-confidence has been bad for a while and at times it seems to get worse rather than better, it's mostly down to thinking that people don't notice me, that's what really feels bad.

And thinking that other people go through worse than me and have gone through worse doesn't really help, it just puts me into the thought that I don't need to tell anyone what I think because there are people out there who feel worse, so my problem isn't as bad in comparison.

I have a terrible habit of comparing myself to others, lol.

I have a mixed self-confidence. When I'm around my close friends I can be myself without worrying at all. However when I'm around new people I tend to withdraw into myself because I think too much about what I'm doing and how I'm coming across.

Also, like many guys I can imagine, it's worse with girls. I think about every little thing I do and every little thing they do and it ends up getting me down at the end of the day/night when I think back about what I could have done or should have done.
I want to be able to do something without caring what happens after, but again like most people this only happens under the influence of alcohol :P.

I don't really know when or why it's happened because I've never been told "Hey that was stupid" or "you look stupid" etc but then again I've never done anything extremely out there.

I didn't expect anyone here to have low self confidence because there are genuine people here. In fact, I was searching for methods of improving it because there are days where I feel like I need more.

Some of my solutions are be more active socially by involving yourself, exercise, and do things that you enjoy.

Well yes, though there are still many things I won't do drunk, not sure about anyone else but when I get drunk, it's generally only more talking that I'll do and maybe stack cans or something, nothing that puts myself indanger or seems really stupid.

Oh? I think I miss your reasoning there :s

Few problems, how can you be more socially active if you don't have the confidence to be? And how can you do things you enjoy if you can't find anything to enjoy?

Exercise fine, everyone can do that though I can't see it improving confidence a whole lot, lol.

That's exactly what I think. People always say to build confidence you have to be more socially active, do things you wouldn't normally do, but the reason you can't do these things is because you have low confidence. It's a sort of vicious circle really.

As for exercise I have heard that it helps you feel better about yourself and I guess that could give you some more belief in yourself and instill confidence.

Same here, I'm deathly quiet when I don't know anyone, but when I'm around my friends I become completely relaxed and can talk openly.
