There some days when I think "Am I the only person who still says this?" Then again, in addition to being a German word it's also phonetically a Yiddish word, and I was raised in a very Jewish neighborhood. So maybe it's a case of no longer being around as many others who say it. In any case, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than "God Bless You"
