So I watched the English dub of this episode yesterday, one part that struck me was when Haruhi wrote a new armband before the trip they where going on. In the dub, it says the arm band reads: Supersluth and yet in the sub, well fansub since I haven't watched the official one yet, it reads: Ultra Detective. Which one is it most likly to be? I mean Ultra Detective seems to fit Haruhi more than Supersluth, lol. |

Is there a problem with that? Asking a question to base the transalation on how the charator acts not weather it's official or not. |

Id go official. As different fansubs usually say different things. Ive seen 3-4 different fanscripts for the fansub of advent children so... |

You do know that the official versions can make mistakes in transalation too? I've just watched the first part of this episode in the Official Sub, where in the Dub Kyon and Itsuki are talking about detectives, the dub says they are using the word supersleuth, which is a major diffrence between the Sub and the Dub. To me, the word supersleuth isn't a very common word, which iswhy it seems odd. |

I'd say official, because it fits her more, but who knows? |

Either way It kinda means the same thing though. Supersluth may sound more negative. As in you could think she was more of a spy. She's less of a spy and more of a detective. I agree Ultra Detective sounds more appropriate but I think essesntially they try to mean the same thing. |
