Do you think the whole Dragonball series is just going to turn into more a series of games or do you think the Anime/Manga will still remain a big part of it? I mean there are no more in the series of the story but I'm sure they have many of games planned out.

There is also that the games could lead people to the anime and manga behind the series. What do you think?

I'm sure that the DB series is going to be mostly focused around video games from now on, unfortunately. Some of the first games were incredible, but they can only sell the same game so many times. Now, Burst Limit, may have better graphics, but only 21 characters? We were up in the hundreds and now we've gone back down. All the different characters were what made BT3 one of my favorite DBZ games ever.

Yea sadly. When the games first came out it was a massive hit I mean me and all of my friends was on top of the games but with the series ended and no new story lines to put out on new Dbz games its not as good as it once was.

Well the games don't really have to follow any story but keep the charactors in it simler to those that are in the story at the based time period. Thing about fighting games in my view is they don't need to have a complex story to them or one running with the anime, but I'm not to sure if it's the same with these.

All the same, I do think that if the games do overtake the anime and manga, it might take a few years because I'm sure people are going to link the title of the game with Dragonball in it to a manga they see in a book shop.

books like animal farm and to kill a mocking bird have been popular since our parents were our age, so it's possible the manga will still be around. not very popular, but it will be somewhere.

The games will be continued for a while though. since burst limit didnt include anything past the cell saga, its obvious they will come out w/ a burst limit 2 to add on. and judging by the fact that there were 3 budakai's and 3 budikai tenkaichi's, there will probably be a third one. plus i saw a korean trailer on youtube for a dbz mmo which will hopefully be in america too. and the way xbox live is bringing back old clasics on the xbl arcade, maybe they will do something like that with dbz in the future.

oh and Kyonko, if you made that first pic in your sig, or know how to, can u please point me in the right direction with some tutorials?

Unfortunately, I believe that the game will ultimately become the driving force behind the fandom, unless something is done to revitalize the anime and manga.

Despite this, perhaps the game franchise will spur newfound interest in Dragon Ball Z? We all began watching it as kids and pre-teens, correct? Who's to say the new crop won't, having played the games and come to recognize the "brand power", pick up a few episodes on DVD and become infatuated?

Quite possible but it just means that it will be the games that are the first contact for a lot of people as oppose to seeing the manga or anime and thinking it looks good so they will buy more.

I didn't make it no, I just found the gif, if you want GFX help, consider looking down towards the bottom of the forum at the graphics section.

Well Pokemon games starting coming out while the anime was showing and I think that new episodes of Pokemon are still being made so it's a little diffrent.

I know of several people who are relatively new fans, (2006-07) who discovered after the series was no longer being aired on T.V. Thanks to the games. It's long pass it's peak of popularity but it's definitely a long way away from being forgotten. I do think it'll mostly be about the games now, but there will be curious people who will take up to watching the anime or reading the manga. Even more so if the live action movie actually comes out. It'll probably suck but it might attract people to the anime.

Every popular anime eventually strains into nothing but milk, but I think the anime will still last quite a bit longer. It still has a good fan base, and if the live action movie is any good it will draw some obvious attention to the anime/manga.
