Products that promote something illigal or immoral to a certain audiance should be banned or limited.
So... who decides which products are moral and which ones are immoral?

That was part of the reason the "Parental advisory" stickers were such a controversy. It wasn't the fact that these stickers could potentially hurt sales, but they also meant that the government could decide what was safe for you to listen to, and what wasn't.

They are put on CDs that contain swearing and such, like age ratings on games I guess, that's all I see the stickers as anyway. But by defining what's moral and immoral, you generally go by public opinion I would say or by what it promotes in comparison with the laws of the country.

Obviously you aren't going to get arrested for being in posetion of virtual drugs but you can be arrested for possesing certain forms of media and if games focus heavily on those while showing images, then you might as well just be possesing the media.

I find it funny that Germany banned games for Nazi References.

These games should still be sold. Just not in a gaming retail environment. Every country has it's laws about pornographic material, so why can't they just sell pornographic or explicitly violent video games in porn shops?
I find it wrong to just prohibit media of the sort all together simply because it doesn't fit the general standards of the public.
Mexico bans games that involve the Mexican army as the antagonists.

And Korea doesn't permit games that involve a fued between North and South.

I personally think it's good. It keeps the peace.

And on the matter of being arrested. If a minor plays computer games that he/she isn't old enough. It's the parents who get the fine. Not the company who made the game, not the Store that SOLD the game, or even the kid who PLAYS the game. Its the parents.

The shop can be fined if they sold the game to the child, but if the perant bought the game for the child then the perants are at fault in that case. The companies lable their games to avoid such. But say a company lables something wrong like gives something with heavy nudity a 15, then they are at fault and the product would be recalled.

Point is, you can't sell games that confilict with the laws of the country, so you can't do anything to stop censorship in that area.

If a video game upsets the peace of nations, then there is something seriously wrong.

screw censorship. especially with condom commercials, I dont get how they can think its bad to have a commercial supporting safe sex. especially when we (America) has such high teen pregnancy rates. As far as video games, they just need to accept that they are here to stay, notice how its always old guys who dont know how to work a controller who are saying bad things about video games
