I mean there's not much else in the grand sceme of things, it'd be nice to belive in an afterlife and such where you can do what you want that you never did. But all the same, there is little point to it. I mean what you do from birth to death might have some world changing impact but only to other people who are going to die anyway. Other animals all live to die, it's the same but yeah, you choose how you use that time and everything, enjoy it while you can and all that stuff. At the end of the day, there is no real point and everyone is going to die at some point. I don't belive anything more.

But it will be good to get to know people better, hopefully. I believe the key in life is to learn... it's fascinating how much we developed our knowledge on the world, and at the same time... we know nothing about it. To me, travelling the world, getting to know other people's cultures, making something in life that makes us feel special and useful, and sharing our love... is basically the essential for one to feel fulfilled and have a rich life.

Is life just being alive, breathing, sleeping... ? I think what really defines your life is the way you explore it, and that's something you can only learn as you grow older and start having a better knowledge on who you are, what you want to achieve... and how to do it. That's why I started by saying this was very subjective... but I do believe our main purpose in life is to learn. Information is power, and you can do wonderful things with it.

Though I don't disagree that learning can be a good thing, it's not really worth it in the end though, look at lions, they are still around and yet don't learn a whole lot in comparison to us and they do fine, well they live shorter lives but still fine for them. Life is simple; breath, eat, sleep, drink, reproduce and so forth. What you choose to do other than that is your choice, it doesn't really help you other than to feel better about everything around you. You could change the world but you're still going to end up dead when your time comes.

But as a human, you're capable of producing things, you're capable of making revolutions... and that leads us far beyond the "live - reproduce - die" theory. Information is not worthless, is actually a very powerful gun in the democracies that we live. I'm not sure what Yankees wanted with this topic, but I believe it was not the "you live, you die" story, because that seems to be too obvious lol.

And I can't say "Your concept of life is wrong", because it's just as fair as mine. But I do believe that is reducing life to a boring succession of essential necessities. And... I don't agree with that.

It's much easier to belive that there is no complex reason to life and there are things that must be done other than the things needed to survive. I'm happy with my boring concept, it's simple.

Firefox Favourite Manga One Piece	A good question, and a long pondered one by many. Who are we to say what the meaning of life is? Life is what we make of it. Your choices are what really matter in the life that you live. Your life is your story. Your own. You can do whatever you want with it, you can become famous and powerful, or do nothing and become a lazy bum. It is completly of your own choice. And maybe that is the meaning of life itself, choices. Its your destiny to fufill. Or change as you see fit. Some people say they would sacrifice themselfs for the ones they love. Maybe they would, maybe they woulden't. In reality, no one is more important then yourself when it comes to life and death. You may care about them more then anything you could ever imagine. You may value them higher then yourself. But if you die, it doesen't matter anymore. Everything is erased. To sum up my view, your life is your legacy. Your legend. Whether it is remembered by all for generations to come, or known to none but close family and friends, that is your choice to make. Edited by Psyam, Jul 2 2008, 12:52 AM.
