Of course you where, two years ago or more when I first knew you on this forum, you never mentioned a word of being Italian. Infact on the topic "Where are you from" you said "me, im from a city in Canada" Amazing, so back then, you say you where born in Canada but now it's Italy? Intresting, back then there was also no mention of the name you have told us, not that it really matters where you are from, it's just you seem to be hiding a lot of things about yourself and I do wonder why. |

OMG!!! I never told Jake I'm Italian?? I never told Jake I had spaghetti for lunch.. does that mean I didn't?.. seriously bro, what's your point if I never told you? well.. I haven't travlled to Italy since I came to Canada, I have never seen Italy as I was barley 1 year old when I emigrated from there. anything else you wana know about me? grow up.. and remeber ethnic backround/heritage so why do you think people are 100% canadian if theyre born in canada and their parents are from.. idk, Spain? Just be proud of where you are born, I mean it doesn't really matter what nationality you are, it doesn't make you better than anyone else just because you where born in whatever place. I am not going to belive you where born in Italy and the more you say it, the less I am going to belive you because it says to me that you are trying to convince people, thus creating a lie. I find it annoying that you are always making stuff up that you think makes you look better, as well as saying how much better than everyone you are, here's news for you, you're not better and you look like an idiot a lot of the time. So stop with the stupid attitude and try to build up a respectable image for yourself on the forum. At one point, I would have said you where a decent poster, back in 2006 but now, you are so much diffrent. What happend. |

Lol I am a loyal fan to all my favorite teams. Spain has not won a World Cup, and they were unfortunate in major tournaments for 46 years, however, I continue to defend them against doubters. You know how hard it is to debate with a Brazilian or an Italian about Spanish soccer? It is completely impossible because they feel that amount of World Cups a team has is the deciding factor of, who is more talented.

Everyone here was supporting their team. Some were supporting others because their team wasnt in it anymore, but that doesnt change the fact that anyone here wanted their team to win the most. I was really upsent when Portugal lost but I knew they couldn't win so I wanted it to be between Italy and Germany right after. Italy because I've liked them for a while, and Germany because they were the team that has already beat Portugal twice in two important games therefore they get my respect for playing good games against them |

Italy is better than Spain, though you are the Euro Cup champs we are the World Cup champs. You own Europe, I own the world. WC is a big deal. oh and.. Maldini, Buffon >>> Puyol,Cassilas at least I admit Spain is good.. and I've always respected their game.. you just look down on Italians  I think someones jealous of our 4 stars.

What's your point, you basicly do not know me. Other members here do.. not you though since I don't talk to you obviously.
All of my Italian friends cheer for Italy.. does that mean they think they are Italian.. no! they were born in Canada, although OBVIOUSLY have Italian heritage.. and are there for Italian-Canadian. that's like saying to a chinese guy "you were born in England.. you're not Chinese"
eh to be honest when my team is out in any sport i stop caring.. I find it no point to enjoy the sport as without my team.. it's just depressing. Born in Canada means they are Canadian, lmao. Sure, they can have an Italian background but they are still Canadian, your nationality is where you are born, not where your perants where born. I really dislike people who think their nationality is where their perants where born, it's stupid. I also don't really like Italians, but there you go, personal opinion. |

Italy is not better than Spain. Italy is viewed by some as a dirty team while Spain is known for their ability to control a game . You're an Italian, which means you won't admit that in the 1994 World Cup there was a foul in the penalty box. Luis Enrique got his face rammed in! What does the 94 World Cup have to do with anything? It's reveals that Spain gets UNLUCKY with those situations. Some teams are fortunate to be able to win a World Cup such as Italy and Brazil. Spain has the reputation of having the best players, but underachievers in major tournaments. Conversely, the last few tournaments I have noticed the shortcomings they endure. They were cheated worse than any other team in the 2002 World Cup. They had three goals that were discounted, which has never been seen in soccer. The last thing I want to say is Spain outplayed Italy in the Eurocup, and I won't be surprised if Italy gets their butt whooped more times in the future. Get over it.  Edit: You're comparing a retired player to Puyol, which means I will ignore it. The second comparison is between an ancient goalie and one, who is at his prime. Casillas is HIGHLIGHTED as the best goalie in the world. If you don't like it, argue with Fifa and fans. Since you used a retired player, I will use one too. For your information, the Maldini/Puyol comparison can't be made. Maldini is retired from international football. Seeing as my knowledge of football stopped about 10 years ago, if i remember the player, they are old. I remember Buffon... so i doubt that he is any better than Casillas. There's no question that they are all good players. Its just the way which you are comparing players. Its not possible to say that Maldini is better when he hasn't played. Also, I fail to understand how you are respecting Spain's win when you are constantly reverting this celebration topic to Italy... I understand that this leaves me open to be shouted at too, but tbh i don't give a *****. |

1st of all, Maldini has been retired only internationaly.. since 2002, although he has still been playing at the club level and has still been one of the best defenders on the planet. in 2004 (which was after 2002) he won best defender award! the guy was 37 years old. Therefore the comparasion can still be made, especially since AC Milan can play Barcelona. (although they haven't in a really long time in the champions league) of course Maldini/Puyol compariosn can't be made. you're talking about a living legend and a great defensemen. (althugh still give puyol time as he is 10 years younger than Maldini)
just because he doesn't play on the world level.. he still plays on the club level and has won a few awards since retiring.. he retired to leave room on the Italian team for the younger generation, in fact he even got called up in 2004 and 2006 but declined.
I feel for you, Italy got cheated on just as bad. Don't forget we had 5 goals taken away from us in our entire tournament in 2002.. 2002 was a bad year, let's end it there.
Buffon is still in his prime.. sure he is older, but he is still pretty good. Sure Cassilas won the Fifa goal keeper 2 days ago.. it was only by a small margin over Buffon, so you can't be thrashing on Buffon.. Buffon's got 4 of those awards. Anyways, both are good goalies, you can't take that away. Buffon has better positioning, Cassilas is a better jumper. 30 is not that old, Dino Zoff was 40! when he won the world cup. Well, what can we say about Italy and Spain.. Italy is just looked down on because of their fans, sure we whine and Yo mama when our team looses but that's because we have alot of passion for the game and expect Italy to win all the time because we're most probably used to a winning team.. idk. I keep doubting the fact that Spain outplayed Italy.. that game could've gone either way, it's not like you owened us like you owned all the other countrys right? it was a tight one. We're not ranked 1st and 2nd in the world for nothing! right now (july 2008) I'll say Spain is the best team in the world and Italy is the 2nd best. In the past decade we met in a big competition twice, you beat us once we beat you once, fair dooze. both teams are good, we're not ranked 1st and 2nd in the world for nothing.. |

Uhh, just correct me if I'm wrong here but Club level and International level are two diffrent things. Diffrent style and such, also other diffrences with the team of people you might have never met or don't know too well. Andy Cole, English striker was called up once for England, from what I hear, he didn't play to well in those international games, but he was a good striker at club level. |

maybe he choked under the pressure? Luca Toni is a good striker on the club level but never scores in international tourneys.. we're comparing strikers to defense here though, it's a whole different position. Maldini was always a good asset for Italy to have as he playes with Italian defenders in serie A, and Italy as you know play much of their game on the defensive end. EDIT: most of the times players are rated by as what they do throughout their careers in a club level..
