Firefox	In the beginning of DBZ he uses the Kinto'un to fly with Piccolo to meet Raditz. But then when they get there he flies up into the air on his own. When did he learn how to fly? They never really showed that in Dragon Ball.

Posts: 11,612 Group: Legend Member #88 Joined: January 16, 2005	well technically the first time he kinda flew was in the final battle versus Jackie Chun(Master Roshi), when he used his tail like a helicopter to stay in the ring. Also he cud fly with nimbus but i suppose, yes the whole proper flying technique that we all see characters do was learn first when Goku faced Piccolo Jr. in the final torny in Dragonball.

I think he learned it with Kami, and first flew battling Piccolo Junior. Source, When Raditz came the only 2 fighters that flew were basically Piccolo and Goku, krillin got thrown around, so piccolo already knew every move that Kami knew (including using ki to fly) and Goku learned when he was training with him. The other fighters flew after training with Kami and first seen using it against Vegeta and Nappa, as [Execute] presented.

I don't think we've ever seen Kami fly, which is probably why I thought Goku taught it to himself.

So u cud be right but just seeing the events in the saiyan saga it is possible that kami did.
