well im not sure but latly i've been noticing some trends in differnt music genres
For example, pop, R&B is about love, betrayal and just relationship issues
Country has been about daughters and there issues with dads and time
Rap has been about clubbin and girls (not much gangsta stuff latly)

I dunno i mean i think maybe it's just a thing with artists, they go with a similar flow

Do u think this or not? what r ur thoughts?

Yeah I noticed that mostly in R&B and rap, since I don't really listen to country.

That's why I mainly prefer rock, cause it doesn't just talk about one thing. It covers every single emotion we go through.

Italian Pop or Italian Techno, a recent yet long lasting trend is 'Love' Listen to any Italian Pop star, and they'll have at least 10 songs about love. The beat is intense as well. It's one of my favorite types of music as well.. Italian Techno that is. I find it more enjoyable than it's Japanese counter parts.. J Pop/Rock is very annoying. Except maybe 1 or 2 songs.

I think every type of music has trends stated in the first post, but some are harder to notice than others, and for some people it hard for them to notice it in music they like.

What are you talking about. I didn't understand your post at all. Anyways, despite what the trend in the lyrics of a music genre are.. I rarely like a song because of it's lyrics most of the time. I just like music due to the beat of the song.. or sound of the song, whatever.

I generally think music tries to aim it's theme at current events surrounding their taget audiance, so yeah, they change over time to fit the feelings of what they are aiming it at. Though Rap and R&B both sound lame to me.

Rock wasn't mentioned there =/

You need to define the more detailed aspects of the song. You can't just listen to the words. The words may be an important aspect of the song. But it's not integral. The meoldy has to speak to you, make a connection. If it doesn't do that. There's nothing to grip the listener. That's why Power Metal, R&B, Hip Hop and Trance music fails nowadays.

In some areas of the Rock Genre. The words almost seem to weave themselves into the tune. Enough so that if you had the Tune, it would be just that. And if you had the words. It would be random scribbling on a piece of paper. Examine a song like this and you can only see the raw feeling. The Base of what the song, not the writer, is speaking about.

That's why I love Pink Floyd, 95% of their stuff speaks like that to me.

Sometimes there is a trend in genres. The more up-to-date stuff seems to just be about sex. 90's stuff. Love. 80's stuff - Pretty much anything.

Not every Genre has a trend. But some artists that could be said to have made a genre famous could have a trend. Like say....Eminem? A lot of his songs are about his f*cked up childhood. He brought Rap to a new level. So many people associate Rap to being like Eminems childhood - Fubar

Well, I guyess that's the importance of the beat in music. That's why Trance, Hip Hop and RnB are popular. They get played at clubs, radio play, high school dances! for that reason.. even some Modern Rock I should say. I think the popularity of music on a large scale can;t depend on the talent of the melody alone. I doubt you'd ever see people bob their heads to a song like "Comfortably Numb".. that's a type of song that i listen to if I'm alone.. but if I'm with company or at a bar.. unless it's a depressing bar, the melody alone would be worthless. Reason being there is a wide range of music for a wide range of reasons I guess.

There are Bars that play that stuff, for the people who want to chill out and listen to some classical stuff.

If I went to a club for a night out. I wouldn't want to listen to something like that, you're right. I'd want something danceable.
