As part of your study you may want to write about how animation affects the portrayal of violence. I mean if it used real actors, special effects and such then it would not be seen as "suitable" for younger kids but because it is a cartoon it is seen as acceptable for younger children to watch. As for my view I believe that the programme itself is not too violent. The manga is a lot more violent. The programme is heavily censored and the violence is countered by the often light mood of the programme. And I recommend looking at the Hypodermic Syringe and Culmination theories if your teacher hasn't taught you yet :P, they'll help a lot. |
