Never seen HMC. But I liked Spirited Away. I love the studio Ghibli collection though. Well, Ive only seen Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. But still.

I've only seen Spirited Away, it was pretty good, not seen the other though. Maybe if I see it cheap somewhere, I'll get it. |

Well that's illegal, you should buy them, if you like them from seeing it only, I suggest you support the creator by buying them. |

I'll be honest with you, when my friend first invited me to see HMC I wasn't expecting much because me and her have quite different tastes in anime...and pretty much anything else. Buuuuuuuut I loved HMC, so much so that I went to see it again at the cinema (which is saying something for me, I think it's the only movie I've ever gone to see twice) Spirited away was alright too, just slightly more beyond the boundaries of unbelievable than HMC - I know that sounds really stupid judging upon what animes Studio Ghibli release...but whatever, it feels like that to me Jeeziz, I just realised how old this thread is...my bad

I've watched both movies and they were both good. But I have to go with Howl's Moving Castle. Howl's Moving Castle to me was fantastic since it had a great setting and characters. |

I prefer Kiki's Delivery Service(also directed by Hayao Miyazaki) over both, but if its just between those two.. Spirited Away, my second favorite Miyazaki movie. His movies never cease to amaze me; Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, and Pom Poko. They're all very entertaining. |

I haven't seen Spirited Away in AGES, and I own Howl's Moving Castle on DVD, so I've seen it a lot more times than Spirited Away, even though I love them both equally. But, I think I'll have to go with Spirited Away. :-) |
