After making a posting in a topic about Dragonball fans who piss you off, I realized that there was also things about the series itself that upset me. It's not that I don't love Dragonball anymore but it's like being married for ten years and after a while the little annoyances that you completely ignored at first are always in you face and there's really nothing that you can do about them now. One of the things would be the structure of the series inwhich most of the major enemies are defeated, not by some clever strategy, both by the heroes getting some last second power-up or something. The only story arc where this really isn't employed would be the Saiyan arc where Vegeta underestimated his opponents. To go along with this is the fact that as soon as we reach a new plateau in power there seems to be an even stronger right around the bend. This I just happened to realize while watching the Trunks arc and how he effortlessly took out Freeza and his father. Then Goku shows up. And everyone's freaking out at the enourmous power levels of these four beings. But in about ten episodes we are introduced to characters who dispaches then rather easily (mainly 17 and 18 because the only reason Goku lost to 19 was because of the virus). |

I havn't found anything that stands out in Dragonball Z that I absolutly think would piss me off. Umm i guess the power up ur talkin bout is a theme in defeating the enemies but it's not like it just all of a sudden happened. Goku trained alot to become SSj and so did Vegeta. Gohan was expected to be able to go SSJ2, its not that it was last second just not in use yet. Uh I guess the fact that Goten and Trunks got there SSJ powers easily was funny to see, they were still weak compared to gohan, goku and vegeta but still it turned into something that "everyone" could do. I found that funny but didn't piss me off. SO sorry not much that I don't like about DBZ |

Probably the thing that most of my friends that grew up with dragonballz remember. Everything took ages! Like when Namek was going to explode and it took like 5 billion episodes. Its like that all the way through dragonballz. It isnt a major problem for me but its the only thing i can think of. |

The constipated noise when they power up. And the time. Like T-Unit said, everything took ages. The Cell Games could be an example, the whole arc took like 50 episodes, while in fact it was less than a day, because it didn't reach the night. Same with the frieza saga. Namek was about to explode, and Frieza said "In 2 minutes this place will explode" and then fought Goku for like 60 episodes. which pissed me off. |

The constipated noises and endless staring is one of the many reasons I prefer the manga over the anime. |

1. Far too drawn out. I don't want to watch Goku charge up a Spirit Bomb for 15 episodes. 2. They totally abandoned Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Yajirobe, and Krillin after the Freiza saga. Sure, they all had a minor role here and there, but these characters got tossed aside in Z. They were a huge part of what made Dragonball so awesome. 3. The fact that the saiyans can achieve so many levels takes away from the aura of a super saiyan. SS2, SS3, etc. It just starts to sound corny after awhile. |

I hate how everyone says, "Oh i didnt like Frieza saga cause Freiza said Namek would blow after 5 minutes and it took 60 episodes" When, Frieza only GUESSED 5 minutes, could have been longer or shorter but do you actually think Frieza can somehow predict a planets stability when the cores been blown out??? |

The "five minutes" comment was something that came directly from the manga and if you were to be reading that it would have taken appx five minutes or so for the planet to explode. The people producing the anime should have altered the line to fit into what they were doing with filler and the extra time that passes when you animate things. |

Yep thats what i would say was the most annoying thing about the show too! Whenever there would be a major fight bout to happen it would take like 3 or 4 eps of trash talking before the fighting would start! |

It's almost none existing if you can watch the show without commercials in bursts of atleast six episodes. |

yes, you share my pain! One thing that annoyed me was some of the comments characters would say, more particularly characters like Krillin, or Piccolo, who quickly became only viewers of the big fights. EVERY time a new big rival appeared, there was someone saying: "omg, I've never felt this kind of power". Lol with all their fighting experience they should have understood that stronger rivals would always come, but they always talked like it was the surprise of their lives. After a while that started annoying me, not to mention it got too predictable. |

A few things already mentioned Too many SSJ levels there should have oonly been SSJ1, this also lead to another thing that pissed me off that the humans became less and less useful. Aslo SSJ became something everyone and their granny could do which made it seem like that it was a smaller accomplishment. |

Hardly a thing 'everyone' could do, just those who remained. Don't forget they had different ways to get to it, which is probably why no one could originally get to it. probs one thing I would moan about is how you suddenly 'jump' a stage. Sometimes in the series you will see a jump appear out of nowhere, like how Goku said he was 'working' on getting SSJ3 for a while and just pulls it off out of nowhere, while SSJ1/2 were quite an achievement. |

lack of character development, in a lot of animes you get to know the characters, including the bad guys, with Goku, or gohan it's not really a problem, as we watched them grow up, but people like Vegeta, we know nothing of his past, or how Frieza founded the Ginyu force etc |

The only thing I can think of is when the two people about to fight each other stare at each other for about five minutes straight with the dramatic music playing in the background. I honestly wish they'd just get on with the fights at some point. |
