FUNimation has announced another round of Dragon Ball Z, with a double-header of 'Dead Zone' and 'World's Strongest' planned for Blu-ray this May.

Like the company's previous Dragon Ball Z double-feature release (which included two films in the 'Broly' series and hit Blu-ray last November), 'Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone/The World's Strongest' will present both full-length animes on a single BD-50 dual-layer disc.

FUNimation has set a May 13 street date for 'Dead Zone/World's Strongest.'

There were no tech specs or supplemental details available for the release at press time, but the previous 'Broly' release featured full 1080p video, DTS audio and extras, so FUNimation's latest 'Dragon Ball' double-header is expected to include similar features. We'll keep you posted.

Retail for the Blu-ray has been set at a suggested $34.98.

You'll find preliminary disc details for 'Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone/World's Strongest' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under May 13.

We've also set up a dedicated thread for FUNimation's latest in our Forums area -- click the following link to discuss the 'Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone/World's Strongest' Blu-ray release.

Can't really say I'm over-psyched about this news. I wish they'd release better movies like 12 & 13 or the Cooler movies. I mean, I like Dead Zone but World's Strongest is just boring IMO.

I agree with you on that, Dead Zone & World's Strongest aren't that good.

Can I ask an honest question, does anyone even like Blu-Ray? I personally don't own one,and don't plan to, but I see no difference between it and DVD. Maybe Im just crazy...Well I personally don't want to have to buy all of Dragonball, Z,GT and all my other DVD's all over again in Blu-Ray format.

dead zone and world's strongest are not bad movies, they are not the best, but they are not bad. Bio Broly, Bojack Unbound and Lord Slug, now those are bad movies. All of the movies will be released for sure, If we notice the double features they have a dragon ball, (Trunks/Bardock) have the one star, while (Garlic/Wheero) have the two star, meaning that...

1 star- Bardock/Trunks
2 star- Garlic/Wheero
3 star- Turles/Slug
4 star- Cooler/Metal Cooler
5 star- Android 13/Bojack
6 star- *posible triple feature (Broly Saga)
7 star- Janemba/Tapion

makes sense to me.
...quite possibly the greatest game of all times!--
