Too dependent?

I was gonna make this a poll, but screw it. Is it just me, or is the Z team WAY too dependent on the dragon balls? I mean, I understand losing a loved one and you want them back, but damn. I mean, every little bad thing that happens to them, they have to make a wish to make it go away. They basically used Sheron to take care of alot of their problems. (Probably why he went crazy in GT)

Chichi: Ah! I got a hang nail and it hurts so bad.
Kakarot: I know! We'll collect the dragon balls and have Shenron make it go away.

Random girl: Yamcha, im pregnant with your kid.
Yamcha: I know! I could use the dragon balls to have Shenron turn back the hands of time to where we didn't do it. All of our problems are over!

Even with bringing people to life. Come on man, after someone has been killed about 4 or 5 times *coughKakarotcough* it's high time you leave fate alone. Even Kakarot might as well said after the Cell games, "Dudes, seriously, don't wish me back anymore. What is this my 14th time? I think I wanna STAY dead this time."

I bet everytime King Yemma sees him at the gate he's like, "DUDE you're back AGAIN!?"

*sigh* But I guess that's the whole point to calling it DragonBall Z.

That's a misconception Goku only died twice that was it. Krillin died more times than Goku.

I agree with the first post.

Life is not like that. Some things are permanent.

Yep, besides, they didn't know they could be dangerous if they overused them until GT.

And i bet even after GT they think "Ah well we beat the evil dragons we could do it again"

and still continue to abuse them

"Oh man I cant reach this itch on my back, hey Shenron, help me out here will you"

I think you're all exaggerating. There's a reason why Dragonball is called Dragonball. Initially the show was supposed to be based on the adventures that come from finding the dragonballs and would conclude with the final wish. That was one of the main reasons why DB got so popular, it was different, had a bit of magic to it, and was basically original and very entertaining. Not to mention Shenron looked amazing.

I know the characters used the dragonballs way too many times, but they never really used them for those things you pointed out. I also know you were being sarcastic, but they basically used the dragonballs to get people back to life and keep the world in peace. That's very noble of them if you ask me.

And what DarkSlade said is pretty true, if you had te chance to make your wishes come true with the dragonballs, you'd probably be doing it all the time and for a much useless cause. :p

only thing is they sort of take away the suspense, if you think somebody might die, it doesn't matter, i know what your saying, the show is meant to be based on them, but the only time there's been a fear of a character dying is if they've died more than once, but it doesn't really matter when it turns out theres more than one type etc

Well look at the end of the Cell Saga, they had a wish left and Yamcha says how abou they all wish to be filthy rich, sure they wish ed 18 to be human...kinda..but i bet Yamcha was thinking

"Eh, only have to wait one more year" hehe

I could not have said it better myself. The whole purpose of dragonball was about the dragonballs. It was what made the series special. It took them many episodes to find all seven. The Namek saga brought that intensity with the dragonballs. Everyone was trying to look for them, and it is what made the saga special. However, in the cell saga, Goku was able to find them within a day. Although they were used for noble causes, it got played out.

Lol GT was a complete mystery to me because I never understood where the black star dragonballs came from. They may have said it in the series, but I do not remember it at all.

Yeah. I still think that they shouldn't put so much faith in goku. When he says all the bad stuff on earth has happened because he was there then they should not wish him back. But he ends up comming back because the old supreme KIA gives him life again to fight and destroy kid majin buu.

They should of just let Goku stay dead and let Gohan be the new hero. I kinda think the story would have been different if Goku stayed dead and Gohan was the new hero. But hey, I can't complain because I love DB and DBZ. :)

Kami made them when he was still merged w/ piccollo (the demon king) then when they became seperate the black star balls became stone, but when piccollo n kami merged again the black star balls became alive again but they remained untouched in the tower until GT began.. yup 1 big filler
