I know this isnt exactly the greatest tut....................... Okay yeah I realize theres no descriptions. I find it hard however to make a tut off of something I've already made. So later this week or so I will try to make a tut along with another sig that I'm making. It's better that way. Oh yeah. Just because theres only 10 images. It doesn't mean I only used 10 layers. It just seems that way because I combine layers as I go along which is why I need to make the tut as I go along.

Hmmm, I think I could do that. If you don't mind my asking, how did you make that layer in the 3rd image? Are those some brushes? And what about the light, is that a graphic, a light source or something else?

the light was the tip of a knife on the render set to i think color dodge of or linear dodge. Just find something that makes it bright. Then add a small soft rounch brush of white, blended with a 30mm lens flare.

the 3rd layer is a smudged render set to Filter>Artistic>Cutout

Oh yeah and under that layer there was a circle gradient. And the layer was set to luminosity.

Hey HustLa, I've been trying to finish this tutorial, but I just can't seem to get the same result, therefore I must be doing something wrong. Can you *please* explain in detail only the first four steps  ? How do you dissolve that render in the 2nd step?

Make sure the render and the black background are on one layer. Duplicate that layer then use a glass filter. Mess with the settings until it looks sandy/grainy like that. Then just erase from one side of the render
and a little from the other side but leave some to overlap.
