From your perspective, if you go on and think about on the first time you had ever seen dragonball+dragonballz, what do you think made the show so great for you? What captivated you to continue to watch and eventually embrace everything that dbz had to offer?

(sorry if this is too long lol, but long posts seem to be my style skip it if it gets boring lol)

You know, I've been a dragonballz fan for 10 years, and amazingly, I still remember the absolute first episode of dragonballz that I saw, that grabbed my attention. It was the episode when gohan was training in the wilderness with Piccolo and he woke up in the middle of the night and turned into that ape from the projection of Goku's spaceship. I can't put my fingers on exactly what it was, but the martial arts theme/base that the series held onto was certainly a starting attraction, but I think for the Saiyan Saga, the death of Yamcha really got me a bit more into the series, because I saw some great emotion from Krillen and the others. In my opinion, the Saiyan Saga definately had really good drama as far as giving you a feel of just how devastating death could really be, because characters that you were beginning to like were just out and such. I'd love to hear other views.

What grabbed my attention was Goku as a kid in DB. He was so funny, he didn't know anything about the world outside, only his small town. I thought that his first moments with Bulma were just hilarious and are now one of the most classic of the whole series.
I think Goku's tail also grabbed my attention, it was new to me and I was a kid when I first watched the anime, so I liked anything new and unreal, just like any other kid likes.
And from that until I got addicted to DB was just a little step. The story kept surprising me on each episode. When Goku turned into an Oozaru I was just shocked by Akira's imagination, I thought it was great to add that transformation to Goku's power and story.

DBZ was super intense, it was definitely my favorite serie. Frieza was a really good villain, he had all the galaxy on his hands, how great is that. It was also really exciting for me as a kid the trip to Namek, I was like "uoh, they're moving to another planet, that is so cool". Then the Androids' saga was my favourite, Android 18 simply connected to me because of the whole 'deadly beauty' idea. Cell was an amazing villain, he was not only a monster in terms of power but also super clever. Also, the whole process of having to asborb the androids was just incredibly exciting for me to watch.

There are sure so many reasons for me to love DBZ. So many aspects of it that constantly grabbed my attention to wait impatiently for the next episode.
But in general, I guess it was the fact that it had always surprising moments on each episode, it kept adding new elements to the story and characters, their powers got constantly better and more impressive. I had just a blast watching it for the first time. DBZ was a huge part of my childhood because of that.

I actually started by watching Dragonball Z. I just loved all the action in it, and the elements of surprise like Vegeta becoming one of them, and then kind of bad again against Boo. Anyways around the Freeza saga, I found out that there was Dragonball which was when Goku was little and that got me exited so I started watching it and though of it to be funny. This was like 12 years ago lol (about that) when I was still in Portugal. But yeah I loved the action and everything in it.

My first episode was when Gohan was blowing the crap out of Frezia in her new transformation. What caught my eye , was the death of all the fighters and one just marviously popping up and suddenly kicking the bad guys *****.

Thats mostly how it goe's in Dragonball z my friends.

I remember the first episode that I saw was Piccolo stalling time for Goten and Trunks in the Hyperbolic time chamber. It might not have been the best episode to start on, but it still kept my attention.

You know, when I was introduced to the Cell Saga/Android Saga about 3 years after I was such a hardcore fan, that saga brought a new dimension of dbz to me lol, which definately made it the type of a series where you were eager to see what would happen next. But I remember, when I first started to watch the namek Saga. Just starting to comprehend the much higher powerlevels really brought the show on a new playing field for me lol. The Cell and Android Saga made the whole super saiyan theme, just far more spectacular.

Goku and Vegeta like to Dance <3

The first episode I saw was when I was in fith grade. (I'm a senior in High School right now.) It was the episode when Goku beat the ***** out of Frieza. I first only watched the show every now and then because my older brothers, and any older sibling can have a huge affect on you (kids are so impressionable.) watched it.

When I watched Goku 'rip' Frieza's body in half, I was speechless. I fell in love with him and his attitude and the way he talked. I remember going to my neighbor's house where my younger sister and her friend were hanging out. (We were all very young. I was about nine and they were six-ish) I immediately told them about Goku and claimed him as MY husband for the next time we played 'Neighborhood' (A much LARGER version of 'House') He sparked my imagination so much that I even began to daydream about what it would be like to live in his world or if he was my guardian Angel or Protector. Goku and Dragonball Z as a whole was my very first inspiration to write.

But, when Trunks came into the picture. I Latched myself onto him - just the idea of him really. (I never forgot about Goku though. He still my number one favorite and 'Protector') One of my first written stories was about Trunks. I told all my friends at school about him. I drew him, I daydreamed about him. And BECAUSE I was so obsessed, my former interest 'Sailor Moon' faded away. In my heart and mind, DBZ was much better and my imagination enefited off it I think.

Ha. Well, that's my sentiment. :]

I didn't start watching until I caught some of the Garlic Jr. Saga on Cartoon Network. It was when Piccolo was increasing his size to keep Garlic distracted so Gohan and Krillin could fight the Spice Boys. I remember thinking it was cool with all the fighting and all, but Goku and Vegeta were virtually nonexistant in that saga.

I continued watching as Trunks beat Frieza after he came to Earth. At the time, I had no idea who Frieza was (this was when I was in Third Grade or so). And when I heard Vegeta referred to as a "prince" it shocked me...because to be honest I thought Vegeta was an aweful character at first. Pink shirt, naked in the shower yelling for a "drying cloth". I didn't like him at all. And then Goku showed up, and that's when I was first captivated. I was totally drawn into him. I saw Trunks, this resident badass who beat what I assumed was some superpowerful villain (Frieza) and he couldn't even touch Goku with his sword.

I continued watching until the show ended, and then decided to backtrack and watch the episodes I missed. After that, I watched all of Dragonball, and then GT started to air, and I watched that as well.

Now, I've got every episode of DB, DBZ, and DBGT downloaded and put on my iPod. :p It's been one of the few things in life I get offended about if people start talking badly about it, because this has been my life for years now.

There are only two things that I get mad about people giving a hard time: Dragon Ball Z and The Legend of Zelda. Both have been with me since I was very young, and both have a very special meaning to me. If I hear people doing that, they'd better get ready to defend their points. ;)
