Does Ki size matter?

Question and most text taken by Daizenshuu EX. (Of course I'm wondering about it too.)

I was thinking about this topic/question ever since I read it on Daizenshuu EX. I want to know if there is a direct correlation between the size of a ki blast (finishing move or not) and the damage/impact it has on an individual.

Take for example Piccolo's Makankosappo, it's circumference is quite small, and would be about the thickness of his arm. But yet the effects of the attack is devastating, even being able to pierce through Raditz who is around 2.95-3.18x stronger than Piccolo. If Piccolo had expanded the beam to make it as thick/wide as say a Kamehameha, would it have been a weaker attack?

You might say "these are all older episodes/chapters, nothing like this happens in the newer stuff". Well lets take a look at Vegeta's Final Flash. A very powerful attack that cut through Cell like butter. Cell was much stronger than Vegeta when he used it. So if Vegeta hadn't made the width of the blast smaller, would it have pierced Cell as easily?

Very rarely it seems that when a character uses a substantially larger (size) attack that he gets the least results. This can be found in Tenshinhan's Ki-ko-ho, Chaozu's self destruct, Goku's Namek Genki Dama, Freeza's death ball, 16's hell flash and Vegeta's final explosion. Just to name a few.

Does size truely matter?

I'd say the power of the ki is more important than the size.

I once gave a Kangaroo a heart-attack just by staring at it

I'll have to use the old saying passed down by my fathers

"It's not the size that matters son. It's how you use it"

Suppose ki each has a different value.

So Gohan may have a value of 4 for every 1 piccolo has. If you get my point. Not saying he does but used as an example.

But I guess by putting the same ammount of force into a thin Kamehameha it's probable that making it smaller would make it easier to control(Not that it needs much tbh v_v)

I suppose it would help in a blast struggle too...Cut through the other beam y'know

Yes I must agree it's the power, not the size. Size just takes out more because of the power spread. But this gets me:

If Frieza was cut by his Death Saucer and his tail cut by Krillin's Destructo Disk, why did Garlic Jr.'s henchman just grab it?

Pickles.

Yup, all on power and not size. I think it's a little thing Akira Toriyama just didn't notice when he made the stuff.
