Ok, everyone here needs to bump thei knowledge up a bit, saying random remarks like that is just stupid, i mean i could just say "Chioaztu could have killed Buu if he was more like goku" You have to think more than that, not wanting to sound like the rude smart ***** Dragonball expert, but the series would have been ruined if their were too many super saiyans let alone super saiyan 3, there was already 2 gotenks and goku, gotenks which had good reasoning, and goku who was obviously destined. |

Haha, bumped the topic by like, a year! I wish I caught it in time. I really need to be more active... Anyways, the main reasons are that... A) Vegeta was meant to be clearly weaker than Goku. If Vegeta was always right on Goku's heels and such, then, there would be endless debate over who is stronger. While the series would have been more interesting, it would've sidetracked from the main point of the story: Son Goku. B) Vegeta would look pretty weird as a SSj3. Yeah. That's pretty much it. For logical references, it also had to do with the fact Vegeta LOST his body when he died, while Goku kept his and was able to actively train in it. Vegeta's body was still kept "in storage" just in case they needed him, but, most of his time was spent as a bodiless spirit, while Goku was able to train actively without the stress from living. I was thinking that Vegeta proberbly didnt have enough power cos You didnt need time to become a SSJ3 as Gotenks did it so quickly. |

Yes, you do need quite a bit of time. The only reason Gotenks "got it" was because A) They saw Goku transform and understood it and B) They are TWO beings, not just one like Goku, which makes it a lot easier. |

Yeah but it was at the point where he saw SS3 Goku, where he didn't care anymore. Also Vegeta wouldn't have been able too, because Goku kept pushing himself to the state, with emotion and anger on his side without knowing what the next ascendant would have been. Which then Trunks and Goten saw. |

No Vegeta never saw it until he came back to fight Buu when he was already dead. This is not a hard concept to figure out. Why Goku achieved it: 1.) He had been in Other World for seven years enduring some of the harshest training sessions 2.) Body has no limitations when your in other world which is why he could get to SSj3 3.) Had a place to rest his mind and find the energies deep inside Why Gotenks achieved it: 1.) Goku showed them how too 2.) Had some practice in the hyperbolic time chamber right before they fought Buu 3.) Were two beings Why Vegeta didn't: 1.) Trained on Eath which had some serious limitations. You saw how tired Goku quickly got while fighting fat buu in SSJ3 2.) Trained in a spaceship under harsh gravity (sure that will make Vegeta stronger and quicker but not nearly enough) 3.) Without a stronger being on Earth, it made it difficult for Vegeta too push himself Think of it this way, if Vegeta died and was in Other World for 7 years (assuming that he kept his body) and Goku remained on Earth, Vegeta would be a whole lot stronger then Goku. It's not that Vegeta didn't have the potential or he was always bitter or not calm, he just didn't have the opportunities like Goku did. Simple. |

And also if you would like to take into consideration the fact that Vegeta had by-passed SSJ3 because of Bulma's radiation machine transforming him to SSJ4. So I'm not sure what else to take from that other than he may have just passed the chance of becoming SSJ3. But you can also consider how much more rigourous the training Goku endured when he was in other world. Like the first post states, it's a little bit less of a strenious task of training to become SSJ3 in the other world then it would be in the living world. |

Compared to Goku maybe, but he apart from him Vegeta is the most powerful character....well in my personal opinion anyway. But back on to the subject, i think if Vegeta could turn into SS4 (even if i was with assistance) he could go SS3. I think by GT though he wasn't really competing with Goku as much as he was in Z. Actually Vegeta excepted the fact that Goku was the better of the two near the end of the Kid Buu battle. As for why Vegeta couldent take on the SS3 form.... 1. It could be possible that Akira Toriyama couldent come up with a possible design for SS 3 Vegeta 2. Even though their are fan made artworks, would Vegeta look right as a SS3? 3. It really takes away from the uniqueness of the transformation when you have more than 1 person who can obtain it (although Gotenks can go SS3, Goku still makes the form look cooler) |

I don't know, but i think it's because Goku's stronger I mean it definitely wasn't because he didn't have enough rage that's for sure
