ok i always wondered about tha Super Saiyan transformation... like once you get to SS.. how much of a distance in power is it till SS2.. and tha same to SS3...... cause Goku doesnt go to SS2 much.. he goes from SS1 --> SS3 it makes it seem like SS2 was or is pointless just wondering... |

In the series they never tell you.. The only thing you have to go is what King Kai said to South Kai, during the OtherWorld Tournament when Goku went SSJ..... All he said was that Gokus power and speed had increased several times over.... I always just assumed that SSJ2 was several times stronger than SSJ too..... same for SsJ3..... I dont even know if there are any official numbers, but it would be interesting if anyone has them |

No. He goes SSJ against Frieza, SSJ2 against Vegeta, and SSJ3 against Buu. SSJ2 was made to look very important when Gohan jumped the level against Cell. They all had their moments. |

yeah, plus the same thing happens in several of the films. The one that springs to mind is "The Rebirth of Fusion", when Goku jumps straight to SSJ3 when fighting Unrefined Janemba. But you're right in some respects, in that SSJ2 is kinda pushed under the carpet in a way. I know visualy it IS different from SSJ, but i would have thought it would be more different looking. With Gohan you can instantly tell if he is at SSJ or SSJ2 because his hair is completely different......however with Goku and Vegeta, the differences seem less apparent. Almost as though the animators couldnt be bothered with it. Also i know its not really related, but at the end of the Kid Buu saga when Goku's strength and Ki were restored back to him with the dragonballs, why does he only go SSJ? You know when hes struggling with the Spirit Bomb. This is his last chance to save the Cosmos from Buu, wouldnt he have gone SSJ3 just in case? |

Perhaps he didn't find it necessary to go Ssj3, either that or he didn't want to take any chances. It was a precaution for just in case Buu were to survive the spirit bomb. That way he wouldn't waste any energy as an Ssj3 because he said that Ssj3 uses up a lot of energy and that he couldn't hold as long as he could in the after world. It was just like in the Tapion movie. He didn't go Ssj3 until the very end. |

Just seems to me that Goku already knew that a SSJ3 cant beat Buu....and that his only chance was the spirit bomb. I cant see why he would hold back SSJ3 just in case the spirit bomb didnt work, because he knows in that situation he cant win. Why would he hold back on the one attack that might have a chance of beating Buu, and saving the universe.... |
