I am a seaoned played of the Budokai series, and honestly think myself as unbeatable on 3... ....i got Tenkaichi 2 a few days ago, and have just gotten used to the different combat system. Really dunno how the leveling up system is supposed to work. It seems as though a character cant level up without having a "Z Item" equiped. I got Goku up to level 40 odd, then removed all the Z items to find that he returns to the starting level. Does this mean that you cant level the actual characters up at all? If so, then what are the EXP points for? |

There is no point in being modest if you really are the best..... I live by Vegeta's example |

You level your characters by assigning potaras, which boost the attributes. the blue ones boost specific things while the yellow ones have varied effects. The EXP is used to raises the level of the Blue Potaras (Health, ki, attack, defense, speed, B1, B2, and Ultimates) that your character has equiped with the maximum level being 19. This also helps to fill in the ??? on the item list screen. The thing is, and I had this same question with BT1 especially when it comes to Ki and B1, what effect does it really have? Does boosting your Ki raise your starting amount or the rate that it replenish or how fast it goes up when you hold L2. And the same thing for B1. I just really, really, really, really, really, rehe-hehe-ally (having a Dr. Perry Cox moment) wish that there was a way to raise the character's base and equipment slots. That would really enhance the customability of the game. That and being able to reassign moves. p.s. If you remove a potara you also lose any acquired exp on that item. |

So in theory...... If i work goku up to level 99, and then remove all his Potara's, then he would return to level 8 (also known as 0)..... Doesnt that seem kinda.....wierd? I wanna level up my characters in the Budokai method...damn.... |

Exactly, although you can go over a lvl100. My Goku, Vegeta, SSJ4 Goku and SSJ4 Vegeta are at lvl113. The highest lvl you can get would be lvl160. And that's if you max out all eight attributes. And if someone figures how to do that, pls let me know. |

i like tha EXP level up system in this game.. plus when you take tha z items off they still keep tha gained experience which is cool ![]() but you have to realise though that Tenkaichi ISN'T a sequel to Budokai.
