has anyone noticed that future trunks has a sword? the one that tapion gave him?!!! how is that possible? he gave kid trunks it! if i remember one of the episodes correctly, trunks said that even if he defeated the androids in vegetas time, he would defeat them in his own time! so, if the androids were tooo powerful, and hirudigarn just suddenly showed up with tapion, (???? no dragonballs!!!!) then how is it that trunks was givin his sword?!!!!!!!!! |

That is a really good question. I have always wondered that myself. It could have been a different sword, either that or Future Trunks did meet Tapion at one time or another. That is the most logical reason. Kid Trunks receives the sword at a very young age, so it could be possible it was the same case for Future Trunks. |

however, when kid trunks got his sword, it was after they had defeated hirudigarn that he was given tapions sword. Also, hirudigarn is much stronger then 17 and 18... so, he would just kill them all in a flash! i mean... if they cant even face 17 and 18! and also, tapion could't have come anyways. because if they had destroyed picolo when trunks was at like.. 1 yrs old, then the dragonballs would be gone! meaning, that they could not release tapion! |

DBZ movies aren't made to be part of the storyline. If so, then why don't you ever see GT Trunks use a sword? It's just strange. I don't much about it. |

The sword Trunks has isn't the same sword Tapion gave him. For one, the movie is non-canon and therefore can't be taken as truth. And second, there was no SSj3 Goku to beat Hildegarn in Trunks' present time. It's impossible for him to actually get the sword. |

Movie 13 is non-canon never happened and is not the source of Trunks' sword. Owntage. |

Everyone's not completely doomed without Goku to save the day. Even without earth's Dragonballs to release Tapion, he could have still been released. And Gohan and Trunks could have found some way to defeat Hildegarn. Tapion still has his flute and there was one point in the movie where he asked Trunks to kill him when he reobsorbe Hildegarn back in his body. It could have happened any number of ways. Heck, they may have encounter Tapion without Hildegarn even being released. |

Plus the fact that Mirai Trunks' timeline is an alternate universe. He might have gotten his sword from Tapion in a different way. |

Strange thing is that on the other Dragonball Forum that I frequent, they're having a similar discussion. And someone linked a chart showing where each movie would fit into the series episode but at the same time why they would not be compatable. The only two that look like they can fit at all is the Bojack movie and Wrath of the Dragon. |

yeah i got that in the last movie., and let me explain this is the past for trunks right now but when tapion showed up he gave it to kid trunks who grew and grew till he was a teen. thags how he got the sword |

But that makes no sense at all. Tapion never existed in the timelime that Mirai Trunks came from. An if he did, who is exactly going to kill Hildegarn? Gohan? He couldn't even beat one of the androids. |

These are alternate realities, any number of things could have happened. For instance, it might not be Tapion's sword, or Tapion could have been released but was killed by the Andriods (technically Cyborgs) and trunks came upon it later on or heck, Hercule could have taken down Hildegarn 8) The point being is that there's a million different way Future Trunks could have gotten a sword, but we would all like to believe that it is the sword that belonged to Tapion. And there are some passable ways that it could be. |

So then why doesn't GT Trunks use his sword like Future Trunks? There could have been a possibility that the sword wasn't Tapion's because Trunks is much younger than Future Trunks when he receives the sword. Future Trunks didn't have a sword at all, till he was around 15 in his timeline. |

Most obvious answer would to: It's GT and GT is crap. But that's also the stupidest answer. I like to think that Trunks forgot to bring his sword along for the space flight. And also that he didn't need it. Plus anytime you compare the original timeline (Future Trunks) with the current one, things are not going to compare up side to side. Just think about Back to the Future different things happen during the three timelines but some of the same things occured. |
