Death Penalty vs. Life Sentence

Killing the murder won't get innocent people back.
Our mind is an universe of deep thoughts, you don't know if one day at some point he/she won't really regret having murdered someone. It would be obviously useless, I know... but maybe a big learning step.
They should suffer from what they've done. They should be in prison for the rest of their lives, they should be threated as real criminals, and they should feel like it is a real punishment. That's the life they deserve to have. That's the way it should be. If you take away their lives, they won't have really a punishment, it would be just it. And also we're no one to decide we can take life from a person, not even murders. :erm:

I had a topic on this and then it was closed. So glad this could be back.

U.S. Prisons suck compared to other prisons. We give prisoners lots of good things that outside countries prisoners don't have. The death penalty makes sense to me. Why would i waste money paying to keep a serial killer alive when he won't change. Even if he does change, it won't erase the pain he's caused to others. People these days are too bleeding heart about people that don't deserve the time to argue about whether they die or not. You kill someone why just be in prison the rest of their life? It's not equal.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

I go with the 5x5 box for big bad dudes, that way they won't steal the little guys muffin at lunch!

But, I vote for life sentance,

I don't think you get the point. People who are sentenced to the death penalty end up serving a life sentence. It takes a long time to process the death penalty. So they end up getting both. Also our prisons are as comfortable as a shelter. They get everything. I mean I wouldn't mind if it was like Alkatraz for a serial killer, but since it was too inhumane  :erm: they needed it to be nice and comfy for someone who murdered dozens of innocent lives.

Filling the gaps in my memories with wild delusions

What's the difference with sending a army somewhere and having them kill someone? That seems to be OK with most people. I hate the idea that someone wheo has taken someone elses life away still being able to carry one a life where they can eat and sleep, have access to television and pretty much keep on living, especially when their victim's families have to live in sorrow and pain. Whether or not later on you've come to realize what a horrible thing you've done, there has to be consequences for your actions. That's what's wrong with modern "civilized" society. We've gone from comforting victims to making excuses for monsters to be monsters.

Also, someone wanted a response from a religious person. The second, third, fourth, and fifth books of the Bible dealt more with some of the laws and ordinances for the nation of Isreal (what the Jews were called before they were called Jews) when they weren't being conquered by other nations. And there were certain laws that you could be stoned for breaking on the spot if there were enough witnesses. A lot of these death penalty offenses did have to do with crimes against God and causing fatal injury to someone else. I even remeber hearing about children being killed for assaulting parents and older people. Sexual crimes were held in the same regard as murder. Accidental deaths could be avenged by a family member, but if the offender fled to a designated area to have the cercumstances determined. And while this was happening the avenger could not touch him, lest he become a murder himself and have to be dealt with. The laws protected the victims as well as those who may have commited the crime, and it stayed balanced so that it would never unfair to either side. But at the same time, if your not gonna obey laws so that you're atleast a not a hazard to society, you need to know that if you commit a violent crime like murder there will be stict consequences coming your way.
