So do you want to pay more money to keep a serial killer in jail? Think about it. There are states that still have it ,but usually don't use it because it takes a long time to be carried out. Many states use lethal injection now.Texas is the state that uses it the most. California has also done it. |

I saw something that says that Texas has the fastest kill rates. They git R done. I'm all for the death penalty. But only in situations where evidence is solid and it's beyond a shadow of a doubt. Instances where the person shows no remorse for his actions. Prison should be a place of rehabilition, not giving free room and board to people who have no regard for human life. Why should we pay money for someone who if were released would continue to kill more people. |

That is why it usually takes time for someone to get the death penalty actually performed on them because they want to make 100% sure that the person is guilty. You surely don't want to send an innocent person into the death penalty. So they end up staying in jail for a long time and then getting the death penalty. So either way they get a little bit of both. |

Death. I feel that keeping a child rapper in jail where for the most part he can be happy until he dies simply isn't fair. However, I see the electric chair as being a bit to... disturbed. I am a strong believer in deadly injection though. |

Lethal injection is okay, but I think that the gas chamber is the best method. There are some states who still perform the police officers lining up on a line and shooting at someone. I think Texas and Utah still perform those. |

Death penalty? Hum... I don't really believe death penalty is the way. Although sometimes I think if it wouldn't be better in some cases. :\ But I still think life sentence is more correct. We just need to have more competent people to make sure life sentence is gonna work. |

I think all the souless serial killers should be tossed into a 5x5 room, with nothing but a toilet. No bed, No desk. No nothing. They will be required to remain there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Food will be brought to them once a day, and no outside contact with family/ friends would ever be allowed. Basically u should be trapped in a box until u die of old age. I think thats worse than a death penalty, and thats what they deserve. |

Unfortunately, that would be violating human needs. Why do you think they closed down Alcatraz? (I think that was the worst mistake in history) They said the island was too inhumane, the jail cells were filthy, and prisoners would get tortured in there. You would probably have many activists on your butt for that lol. Don't you guys know that some people commit crimes on purpose? So then they have a warm bed, food, and shelter. Going to prison in some states is like going on a small vacation. |

yeahs thats what i would do if i were homeless. Im not saying all criminals should go to "the box" just the worst of all humans, like child molesters, mass murderers n stuff. N screw human rights. We dont deserve any favours. All we do is drain our planet of rainforests and multiply faster than rabbits. |

If you're religious shouldn't God be the only person alowed to take a human life away? We have no right to take someone elses life away, God gave us life he should be the one to take it away. (I am not religious I am just looking at it though a religious person's point of view). |

Yeah, but should we allow a serial killer to produce mass murders? Besides it isn't llike the death penalty is given right away. It takes years for someone to get sentenced to it. So they will most likely die from old age then from the death penalty. |

Obviously not. They should be in prison for the rest of their lives. But in good prisons and with competent people working for them to feel bad, like a real punishment and not a vacation. But as it was pointed, no one has the right to take life from anyone. That's disturbing :erm: |

Serial Killers should get life inprisonment, but life life, not just 10 years or so. If it take's years to get them sentenced to death and they will probably be dead anyway, whats the point in sentencing them to death? while they are waiting for the death penalty to be given they will be in prison anyway. My dad is currently in prison (Only a low grade prison because his crime was something really small and stupid), he's in a grade C prison, in the UK prisons are graded by A, B, C and D. D's being open prison's and A's being the worst. These mass murderer's should be given life in grade A's. Now way the death penalty. (That sounds kinda odd I know, but it makes sence to me.) |

Yeah I understand what you're saying, but look what if it were any of your family members (God Forbid) that got murdered? It is a natural reaction to want that person to feel the horror and suffering you went through. Even though Death Penalties take a long time to be issued it always keeps the prisoner thinking. Thinking of how his/her is end is going to be. When you sentence him to life inprisonment he lives, eats, breathes. Something he/she took from others that were innocent. Is that really the way you want it? |
