Which Bible is the Most Correct

Rule 1: This debate is for those certain members who have a religion and are free to tell what type of Bible they use. If you don't have a religion and just come here to spam, you will be reported. No one cares about stupid people who post "Lawl at you all for actually having a God!!". Seriously, if I see that at all, actions will be made.

Rule 2: I expect you first time posters to answer my questions about this subject first before making any certain debate(s) with other members. Not just a newbie come in here to bash others. Again, actions will be taken if said rules are broken.

Rule 3: I expect people to post properly. As in, I can read what you say. It's not my job, nor anyone else's, to try to decipher your posts. Make it readable.

Rule 4: I also expect you to always print out the name of your version of the bible. Not NIV, KJV, NKJV...etc. I want the entire thing printed out. This will help me, along with others, to be able to follow your post smoothly.

Rule 5: I don't want this debate to become so vile that insults are made. You are to respect other's religions as much as you expect them to respect yours. Again, if this rule is broken, I'll see to it your punished.

Rule 6: By posting in this thread, you will abide by all rules or suffer the consequences.

Now that I have that cleared up and my opinions out, I will start this.

Mostly on curiosity I want to know what type of Bible you use and why (detail is needed). Other things you can include are 1) How did you come across the Bible; 2) Any known additions made to it over the years?

And one of my own questions is, do you believe that the new translations made to some original versions? (ex. King James Version)

Now my version of the Bible is the King James Version (original). I have always used this version my entire life as that is what is preached in my church. I've used this Bible because of it's use of poetry is words and the fact it was made back before a lot of corruption was in the world and more people were religious and actually believed in God.

Some claim King James and his scholars took books out of the Bible. I believe that. My preacher even said he owned some older bibles that had some of the books in them. Also, some said King James added verses to the Bible. I do not believe that. One reason is because no one has ever tried to prove that to me with proof.

And finally, I don't believe in other translations of the bible in the same language due to some things that get left out or added. However, I'll mention those later after some people post.

I'm no expert or nothing, but arent they all correct? Just different interpretations, but basically all the parabales and verses are the same aren't they? Isnt NIV like Victorian style writing, while King James is modern day lingo? I've seen a Latin Bible when i went to Dominican Republic. It was huge! :o

Well, in some cases I would say yes, but it also depends on your religion.

Like to me, the people who worship the Devil's bible (I believe they have one), to me would be wrong due to me believing strongly against any worship at all of Satan. Not to mention it would be entirely different from ours.

NIV is New International Version. See, my rules are for good reason.

Edit: The original King James Bible is not in modern style words. The New King James Version is. But I'm against that.

well, i consider myself a Buddhist, but i have great respect for all religions. They all originate from Christianity though, going back thousands and thousands of years. The bible i believe was written over the course of almost 1500 years. So many would consider it the "original religion". Many religions are differentiated only by factions of ideology and perspective. Many other the parables in the Hindu bible(i dunno what u call a hindu bible....) are closely related to the bible. What was the first version of the bible written? Latin?

If so, i would say the Latin bible is the most accurate

May I ask how you know this? And by what means you know this information?

Also, I believe the original language (before the Tower of Babalon thing) was Hebrew. Or whatever the Jewish speak. As they are God's people.

The original teachings of christ are no longer there, as they have been changed over and over by those who have translated it. By the different churches.....it's not the same anymore.
Why are their so many versions ?
that's proof enough.

And i do have further reasons but i do not wish to delve into them right now.

I'm pretty sure there are versions out there you haven't even heard of. Same for me. Not to mention the actual version wasn't in English first. I'm pretty sure it was in Hebrew... There could very well be an exact version.

Which would be...?

Also, I meant entire bibles in general. So, both.

The Catholic Bible or Catholic Chatecism (no specifications), whichever name you prefer. Anyway I am taking Theology in college and well most people who follow their religious bible will say theirs is the most accurate. One of the main reasons I am going to say my religious beliefs are accurate, is because of the Pope also being Roman catholic, but that is just my view. Others may think their's is right, for whatever reason. Bibles have been changed over the years to accomodate for the changes the world has taken. SO it is hard to say.

That's alittle mean, people who don't belive in god have an opinion too and should be entitled to such.
Only if post's violate rules should they not post.
But that goes for anyone.
