Should homosexuals be allowed to married?

In my point of view, homosexual people have the same rights as me and you. I understand that religious aspects could be a problem for you to accept that but after all, it is true. Well, isnt the biggest and most important human right to be able to do whatever you want? So isnt it a human right if you want to marry the one you love? Or better, have you ever felt love? If so, just try to imagine how it feels not being able to marry the person you love. It is a cruel and crushing feeling isnt it? And that is or better was reality for those people. Of course you might say: oh well but they can live together even if they dont marry. But homosexual people can be religious too, and what about that fact? Sonny for example, you as a catholic, dont you think that homosexual catholics have the wish to be married in a church under the hands of god?

Well it might sound strange for you, but under the aspect of deep love, you should think about your opinions.

If 2 people are in love with each other, there is no reason why they souldn't be married to each other.
Marrage isn't a religious thing, if you think about it, other animals have a simler thing, of course they don't have a wedding and everything, but they still have a parter and stick with them.

Birds for example, once a bird has picked its parter, they will stay together for the rest of there lives, if one dies, the other might get another parter or might just live alone.

And if you are curious, there are homosexual animals aside from humans, I had a pet cat, he was homosexual. There where loads of female cats near us but he only choose to play with them, not mate with them.

What happend to human rights anyway?
Equality for all yes?
Homosexuals are people to, so they have the right to do whatever hetrosexuals do.
Sexuallity doesn't change your rights.
Socity does.

But true love doesn't stop at Male and Female.

That's a good post, but I don't think it's all true.

Sure humans should do anything we want, but honestly, we can't. Some can do things other people cannot do, like touch their nose with their tongue, or lift over 500 pounds. Some people can withstand pain, where others just cringe to the thought of it. We're all different and can do different things. this should be the same in all aspects. if you're straight, you can get married, if you're homo, then you can't. Just like if you're strong, you can lift 500 pounds, if you're not strong then you can't. See my point?

As for that line 'just try to imagine how it feels not being able to marry the person you love.', So what if you can't marry? It's only a law thing. Nothing major changes, you're still gunna be with that person, you're still gunna love them, you'll still live together in harmony. Why does marriage make it so much better? Oh yeah, it doesn't.

There is a diffrece between physical strengh and personality.
A HUGE diffrence.

Sexuality should change your rights to marrage.

Everyone has the right to lift 500 pounds, weak or strong, just a weak person won't be able to manage it, they still have the right to try it.

Okay I was reading some of the other people's views on this. I believe M.I.A was saying that it was wrong to call it gross, etc. Look it's unnatural and yes I am an american and I am a spaniard too. By the way in Spain they are the 1st country to allow ***** people to get married so I am not totally digusted with it. Here is the problem, Spain like United States is a very religious country. When you start messing with religion you're going to have chaos and a lot of mess. In SPain do you think the average person is happy about ***** people getting married? Absolutely not. When you're thinking about politics you shouldn't think about a minority you have to think a majority. Of course there are quite a lot of people who think ***** marriage should be allowed, but you have to understand that this country is made up of a lot a lot of latinos. Latinos are mainly Roman Catholic and Christianity they aren't going to like ***** marriage.

Women didn't have equality. Blacks didn't have equality. Now they do. Don't compare ***** righs to a civil movement, because ***** people have every right that any normal person has. They can get jobs, they can get paid well, they have freedom of speech, they can vote, freedom of press, etc. Nobody is restricting them from doing anything. However, you have to undersatnd if you say YES to ***** marriage you are going to have to say YES to other types of marriages as well. For example, poligomy. Do you know why Pilogomy is not allowed in the U.S? It's not allowed in the U.S because it breaks the Constitution of equal rights for men and women. Now if we go ahead adn let ***** people get married, then we are going to say yes to pilogomists because heck why not? What's wrong with getting married to more than one person. Also heck what's wrong with getting married to your pet? It's the same aspect. If you're going to allow ***** people to get married, you're going to have to change a loooooooooooooooooot in the Constitution and that is going to take years my friends.

Im not saying ***** people shouldn't get marriage benifits, which they do receive in Mass and California. They don't get married, but they get all the benifits from being married. They get a certificate showing that they are married. Now remember if you allow ***** people to marry you are going to have a big split in the United States. This country is run by Seniors, not by younger teenager slike ourselves. Seniors are usually old fashion, and old fashion means no ***** marriages. ***** people were never represented in front of the old generations. Older generations found that disturbing and absolutely disgusting. So that's why you are most likely not going to see ***** people get married.

So do I think ***** people should get married, no, do I think that they should get marriage benifits, yeah thats alright with me.

They all get more rights than they did a few years ago, times are changing.
And do you really think homosexuals have the same rights?
You'd probably be wrong there.

Consider this, 2 people apply for the same job. The working enviroment consists of mainly males.
1 man has all the required qualifications and no bad record, but, he isn't married and currenty in a relationship with another man.
The other man has all the qualifications, but not as high and he has been fired before for being late. He has been married for 10 years and has 2 children.
Whos going to get the job? Not the homosexual man. Because alot of people are homophobic.

Pilogomy is a diffrent thing alltogether.

There is nothing wrong with 2 people getting married, whatever gender. If they want to get married, it is there choice, it should be discorraged due to socity.

Well, i have to say no.
Mainly because of a religous reason, but also im thninking about the kids who get adopted...I mean, when a kid gets adopted...what happens when he has 2 fathers ? or 2 mothers ?
He'll be very confused.....and it's 100% not the same as having both a mother and a father.....
He wont's experience the same things as other kids, also people arpound him (especially you children who dont understand) will give him looks, talk behind his back and slo make fun him intfront of hi face.....A youg child shouldnt be put into this position...

dude trust me on this, they'd get over it. i can talk from experience here.
i moved from Germany to England and have 2 mothers. yes i got hell in highschool in yr7&8.
but i got over it. people started to find others to pick on. having 2 mothers isn't that different than having normal parents, and i can also say that because my parents didnt split until i was 7. then my mother had another partner and i get along great with my 'other mother' who i think has taken a kind of father role if you understand what i mean.
Really, i prefer having 2 mothers than having a father who doesn't really care about his family. there's always something people can tease you about, you just gotta ignore the crap and get on with it.

I've looked at job applications and not once has a job application ever asked for a persons sexual preference. Sorry, but why do you think Clinton made up the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. It wasn't only for the army, but it was for working people too. There are many ***** people in this country making triple figure salaries, so I have no idea what marriage has to do with anything, that has to do with success. 2. You said the working place consists of mostly males, that is false. We are in the year 2006, not in the year 1950, females have now almost doubled men going to college and are being successful in jobs. Many corporations now have many women working, so women are less caring about sexual preference and usually are not homophobic.

Also when you're growing up as a child and you have two mothers and/or two fathers, then you are at a big disadvantage because you are not going to be able to adapt to different gender philosophies. For example if you are a daughter, is your mother going to know how boys think, are your mothers going to be able to tell you not to believe what all guys say because of what they are thinking. When you grow up as a child you need both gender parents' guidance, that is what makes you a well rounded person. When a son grows up with a mother and a father, he learns to be strong from his father, but yet caring an dloving from his mother. If he has two mothers then how can he possibly get all that information. Some cases sons and daughters who have same gender parents do very well, but it's very rare that they ever do. Most of them end up being confused about themselves, or embarrassed to tell everyone around them that they have two moms and/or two dads, which would probably distract them from school.

Now like I said, I could care less if ***** people get benifits similar to a marriage, but I don't like the idea of them getting married. Also they are making this into a national crisis, we have MORE important things to be worrying about, then somebody's sexual preference. There are a lot of religious people in United States of America, if you are going to change the Constitution, you're going to have a lot of chaos and marches with people who appose it. The U.S just isn't ready for it yet.

Lastly pilogomy is not different at all. It's a sexual preference just like homosexuality. Pilogomists sexual preference is more than one wife or husband. So I mean it's practically the same thing, just multiple partners. You say love has no gender, then who is to say love has no limit of partners?

I agree with you guys I am religious myself, I am a Roman Catholic so Homosexuality is a sin in my religion.

Homosexuality isn't a sin in our Church, they don't hold it against someone because their sexuality is different. Though i think it's a sin to get married if you are *****.

Yes it is. It's a sin in our Church. Homosexuality is a sin in both Christianity and Catholicism. The Pope is Roman Catholic and he totally opposses homosexuality because it is a sin in our church.

This is a quote from a Roman Catholic site---->They regard homosexual orientation to be “objectively disordered” and view homosexual practices as very serious “sins gravely contrary to chastity”.

It says that Catholics should respect homosexaulity or the people who
practice homosexuality, however Catholics still consider it a sin. Always have. They consider it a chastity that will leave the homosexual person lonely without real intamacy.

I dont understand how the church is able to call love a sin. Thats just aweful. I mean, okay, normaly, a woman and a man are ment to be a couple, but on the other hand, are we all able to say what is normal? Are the homosexuals normal and we are not? Or the other way round? I think this question cant be answered by people.
