Slugs are the species that Namekians seem to be based on and would be most relevant for a comparison to judge what their anatomical layout would be. Referencing them would be the closest thing to a conceivable anatomical analysis for the few relevant similarities they have with Namekians. Furthermore, whatever embryonic innard Namekians seem to possess, it's situated in the location of the previously acknowledged alimentary canal. If you take the Daizenshuu at its word, the egg is developed somewhere in the mouth. Of course, that doesn't make quite so much sense because we witness it traveling up the neck, presumably such a process would involve a more extreme biological constriction of the epiglottis (which closes anyway to protect the larynx while swallowing). When the egg is born, it's like the diaphragmatic tightening seems to become exaggerated a bit to allow the egg to pass through. More than that, the Namekian conceiving, for a brief time, sounds as though they are choking. It would make sense, given that one of the key physiological traits of the Namekian species is the ability to lengthen, expand, and contort their bodies. Whatever embryo the offspring develops as, there would be room made for it while still retaining the humanoid organs and respiration of a Namekian. It would naturally close off the larynx which is presumably connected to lungs and the various organs related to respiration in the chest. Survival as a head doesn't really speak too much about Piccolo's longevity because nothing specific is given as to what amount of time he could survive in that condition. In Herms' own translation, all we're told is that he can "regenerate as long as his head isn't injured". There is nothing else given regarding this potential regenerative trait. Humans have been documented as allegedly maintaining living functions of some kind for a scant few seconds after decapitation. It doesn't make Piccolo's physiology all that much more incredible because he seized those precious seconds to use his body's regenerative function to save himself before dying from shock, blood loss, or any number of ailments that would quickly surface from having the majority of your body torn away. The stamina loss aspect is questionable too because Piccolo wasn't engaged in any fight during regeneration in that scene. Typically when we see Namekians becoming strained from regeneration, they're in the midst of a fight. If you look at some of the instances where Piccolo regenerated as he wasn't fighting, you'll see that he restores his limbs without showing any signs of exhaustion (prior to the Buu arc). Regarding the eating and drinking function, water is taken in through the stomach and intestines primarily. Nothing would need to be different for a creature surviving off water to anatomically function. The digestive tract of humanoids for the purposes of absorbing water as well as eating are both the same. It's possible that Piccolo might even have an anus since excrements are comprised primarily of water with much of the rest being bacteria, salts, intestinal mucus, ect. Although in a Namekian's case, the waste product would likely almost always be a type 7 variety where there's no solid matter. Hit's Dim Mak should still be applicable to Piccolo. Nothing pointed out so far appears to give any strong indications that his anatomy is somehow radically different. What's more, the critical area of the Namekian body would be the area most vulnerable to attack since anything caused by respiratory trauma or temporal compression would likely impact the mental functions of the victim, taking a huge hit at the minimum and rendering them dead at worst. What im saying is if piccolo can survive without his body then no trauma is going to cause him not to be able to regenerate what hit can destroy even if that means making a whole new limb and set of nerves. The whole slug thing is just going abit to deep on both are parts lol. I imagine he has a hole of some kind down there. Also it says as long as his head is not injured, so as long as hes a head he can live. That statement would not make any sense what so ever if he could only survive a few seconds do to blood loss. Anyway like i said it dose not matter if hit can kill piccolo or slow hom down neither can contend with dyspo at equal power levels. |

I feel as though the consequences of cerebral trauma aren't being appreciated here. If Piccolo were to get struck in the temple region of his skull, it's very likely that the meningeal artery underneath the temple would rupture, causing severe internal bleeding. What this would lead to is the aforementioned epidural hematoma where some of the most probable symptoms include spasmastic convulsions, disorientation and even a numbing of bodily sensation. In real life, actual special forces of militaries do take advantage of this frailty in their courses on hand to hand combat. It's one of the most dangerous areas of the body to strike because of the damage it could cause to the brain. Piccolo wouldn't be able to concentrate enough to prompt himself to regenerate. He may not even be conscious, or if he is, his motor functions would be shot to hell and he'd likely be on the ground vomiting and convulsing from the disorientation. These impairments can't be healed by his technique. Piccolo himself clarified that. Regarding Piccolo's survivability as just a head, we aren't given any specific information as to what amount of time or how much loss in blood pressure he could survive - nevermind that spinal detachment of this degree would be a death sentence for pretty much anyone alive. Herms' translation of the raw text states that Piccolo can "regenerate as long as his head isn't injured". It's all we have. What the text is referring to is Piccolo's capacity for regenerating his body, not surviving as just a head. By the time Dabura's petrifaction wore off, it would have been a matter of moments before Piccolo reconstructed his body. I don't have a high opinion of Dyspo's fighting skills. Yes, Hit doesn't have access to his Time Skip, but he should still have Shunken Ensatsu (which he didn't use against Dyspo). Both of the tournaments that Hit fought in, he was prohibited from using the full extent of his abilities. Under these circumstances, I don't see why he couldn't bring down Dyspo with a single invisible strike to the area where his heart is or perhaps even his head are. Ive said if he goes for the head he can kill piccolo just not the body. Piccolo has been shot through the chest quite a few times so stuff there is not vital as he was able to regenerate. Goku in his fight with hit allowed hit to kill him to see how his time skip worked. Then later evwn with these techniques you mentioned he was unable to kill goku. So its not as easy as one two your dead. Especially with piccolo as he is just as skilled maybe even more so then goku. I can see if hit desides to go for his head he would protect it like how hit did his vital spots against dyspo. Anyway onto dyspo. He did not show a good amount of skill in his fights. But it is his speed that wins this fight for him. Dyspo being weaker then final form freiza was faster then Hit someone between the power of god and blue. Now if we make them equal power levels lile they are in this battle then dyspo gets to be around 2000x faster at the minimum then the others. While also being equal he cant hit just as hard as the others. And for that reason i think both of dypos speed techniques should be kept from this battle. |

Damage to the torso by itself won't necessarily kill someone. Goku had a large perforation through his right lung yet he clung to life in his fight with Piccolo during the 23rd tournament. Also, it's interesting that the torso would be brought up because on the at least three occasions where a Namekian was canonically pierced through the chest in the manga, they were either killed or pushed to the brink of death. Granted, these were usually perpetrated by someone considerably stronger than the the Namekian, but it demonstrates how those areas appear to beget a far more discomforted bodily response than if they were to get shot in, say, the leg or shoulder. If it's cardiac trauma like the aforementioned commotio cordis then it's not exactly a physically restorative deprivation of body parts. What commotio cordis means is that some kind of disruption has occurred to the rhythm of the heart at an important part as the heart is beating. The fatality rate here tends to be quite high and I've never heard of Piccolo being able to regenerate something that amounts to a ventricular electrical signal that has gone awry. There are various means to successfully land a precision strike against an opponent. One method would involve limiting the opponent's field of movement by getting a physical grasp on their person. In someone like Dyspo's situation, with an opponent that can continually adjust to his repositioning and tactics, grabbing hold of a physical limb would be fine. Should Dyspo be able to avoid a direct strike to the larynx, nose base or temple then Hit can also take advantage of the grip he has and render that limb unusable by striking the specific nerves that enable motor function. |
