Arctic Monkeys' first album in 5 years! Just spreading the love in this topic. Absolutely love these guys and the quality of music they keep producing. I'm still sort of in the process of taking the new album in, but I LOVE how conceptual it seems to be and the single, Four Out Of Five, is a total banger.

Other big standouts upon the first few listens are She Looks Like Fun and Star Treatment.

Pitchfork headlined heir review of the album brilliantly imo, they wrote:
"Arctic Monkeys’ daring sixth album is a left-turn if ever there was one, but the way Alex Turner swaps witty sleaze for absurdist suave makes it a totally bemusing and fascinating listen."

I don't love it but I like it. Its on the line where I have to do some exploring to see what I think of the artist. I'm assuming from the album review that this song (and album) is different from their previous work. I'll do my listening on the weekend when I have some time.

Their first album is still my personal favorite, nothing beats that very blunt and straightforward garage rock sound and I felt there was something quite iconic and timeless about the album and how it fit the music scene at the time. I still listen to it regularly to this day.

Favourite Worst Nightmare was pretty good too and I have a lot of nostalgia belonging to that era of their career because I saw them live 2 or 3 times in those years and also accidentally bumped into them while they were out and about in Lisbon and got to see them in person and get their autograph, which was a pretty cool little moment for me.

Then the following albums were all good, but didn't really stay with me the way the first two albums did. I did however regain a lot of interest for them during the AM era and it has some of my all time fave Arctic Monkeys songs -- which is saying a lot because I like their entire discography.

This new album after a long hiatus feels very fresh and new coming from Alex Turner, but I guess he sort of had to reinvent their sound after such such a long time away from the business. I feel the new sounds won't be as universally loved amongst the fanbase as the previous albums were, but you gotta admire an artist who is willing to take risks with their craft.

Not a bad song. From what I remember of their other song, it fits the same sort of feel to it. Would listen to more most likely.

The day Evan actually listens to/appreciates an Arctic Monkeys album is the day the world comes to an end. Like, fo realzz :o

The song I showed you before was this one in case anyone else is interested, which still to this day is probably in my top 5 (perhaps even top 3) Arctic Monkeys' songs:

Science Fiction is a very underrated song from this album.

Really really good album imo btw, I think people set themselves up for disappointment by imagining an AM-esque, riff filled album. I appreciate the change of tone though. Alex Turner is incredible at writing lyrics, too. Like holy s***, he's so good.
