the mars rover has been somehow programmed to fire at human targets here the mars rover takes only 1 sec to identify the composition of its target here how far does it go? 1.an astronaut with a shot gun 2.levian (marvel) 3.alien from sign 4.batman from darknight movie with space suit 5.goku from beggining of dragonball 6.xenomorth Edited by jason vorhees, May 14 2018, 02:53 PM.

Unfortunately the Mars Rover still needs to identify the composition of its target, so that's still going to take time. And since the astronaut starts off with a shotgun, I imagine they know to start off by shooting it. It stops right there at number one. |

what if we minimize the time of the composition then? Edited by jason vorhees, May 14 2018, 02:54 PM.

It would need to be lowered to a time less than the reactions of that of someone holding a shotgun that knows to shoot the Rover on sight. So we're probably talking a second or less. |

Where does it stops now? |

Well, in the most likely case, that laser is fairly small and isn't intended to go against targets as large as a human being. So even considering the laser being able to do what it does, it'd still require quite a bit of time to actually do any real damage. So it most likely still stops against the astronaut. |

Lol no the laser only needs to hit the astronaut once and the astronaut will eventually run out of oxygen due to his spacesuit being damaged |

A shotgun, assuming this is a modern one, can fire off its guages long before the astronaut suffocates. Edit: At best it gets destroyed at number 1, taking the astronaut with him. Edited by Goddess Ultimecia, May 14 2018, 06:08 PM.

an astronaut wouldn't be that skilled to just fire his shot gun to do enough damage at that point considering he would be affected by the temperature plus all this panick attack he will be having then would pose a lot of trouble... Edited by jason vorhees, May 14 2018, 06:12 PM.

It's a shotgun. I'm pretty sure I'd win in that fight. Just point and shoot, I'll only need one to destroy it. So I imagine an astronaut who has to deal the dangers of deep space will have better nerves than me, and be able to shoot it before he dies. I'm on team astronaut. |

So both of them gets destroyed then? That would still count as the rover passing 1.since he destroyed him even though it also gets destroyed |

I doubt it, more likely, assuming the Astronaut has any reason to know what he's doing (I'm assuming he does, otherwise he won't take any offensive action), he'll win via shooting the Mars Rover first. It's a shotgun after all. Hell he'll probably understand better the danger of the Rover than most, at least he's more likely than say, Goku. |

nope, he won't be able to shoot it in time before the rover would zapp him.so at best they both get destroyed.which makes rover get past 1 |

The Mars Rover hardly seems that fast, meanwhile a man handling a Shotgun, is much quickler to aim and fire, or even just hip fire, again, this Astronaut prolly knows enough to know how it aims the laser. ![]() This thing turns pretty slow. I'm pretty sure I can shoot it faster than that, and if I can, so can the Astronaut. Actually would that laser even pierce a spacesuit? Those things aren't exactly paper mache, maybe spring a small leak but I'm not sure you'll kill the astronaut in time. Resistant to heat as well last I checked. The most damning thing for the Mars Rover is that we have video proof of how effective its laser is... and it's pretty garbage tbh.![]() It vaporized maybe a few millimeters if that of actual rock. I'm not so sure it's going to even be as effective against an astronaut suit, which is tailor made to be heat resistant and radiation resistant. The Mars Rover doesn't really stand a chance. |
